Thank the Lord for a warmer
weekend for our cruise. We guess we needed the cold weather to prove we do have
a cruise, if it is at all possible. We had one Canadian family thank us for
arranging the cold weather to make them feel at home. We do try to please our
"out of town" friends that come to share our hobby, also the regulars that show
up for every event.
We brought our 79 T-bird out tonight and when we arrived Al and his buddy Bob
were first in line and Barry and his 2009 PT was right behind them. Stan and
Maryann came a little later with the 77 Pacer. As usual Lee and Dave left us in
at 5 so we could find our usual places to show our cruisers. We were joined at
the Steakhouse by Stan and Maryann and Gerald (Mr. Pontiac).
As we strolled around, socializing and enjoying the warmer weather we found a
beautiful 1996 Honda Civic, this cruiser is owned by Jose Comellas who came over
from Ft. Myers to show this beautiful cruiser. This cruiser has a mixture of
yellow, orange and blue and is a great eye catcher and Jose has been here a
couple of times and we hope we see him more often.
Our under the stairs gang had their usual places, Pablo and Nilda with their 96
Taurus, Lynn had her 09 Avalanche, Lori's 06 Charger, Nancy had the 1991 Mustang
and Bert with Laverne had their 07 PT Cruiser. Near by were Ken and Sharyn Dodge
with their 1995 Ford Pickup and our own cousin Vinny with his 2005 Dakota.
A few of our regulars that came out tonight were: Ed Gangwisch had his beautiful
1984 Pontiac, Felix had the 1978 Scorpion, Freddyson and his 2003 S 10 Xtreme
Pickup and Ken Keel had the 1983 Mercury Lyxe. We saw the Tropical Breeze gang
were all socializing with their friends.
Our friend Juan and fellow cruiser chose his 1976 Mini Cooper to cruise tonight.
Juan has 11 show cars and is proud of everyone of them. Ken and Audrey were back
after the cold weather with their 2006 Mustang. Ramon had his 2006 Mustang and
Monchito had his 2006 Chrysler 300.
Fred from Michigan was back out visiting and enjoying Old-Town. It is always
good to see him. Pat and Alan were also here. Sean Rogers had his 2006 Nissan on
the bricks tonight. George Pennachi had his 2005 Yukon, Andy and Mickey with the
79 Caddy and Ed Guglich's 1983 Mustang.
A very interesting vehicle was a 1990 Mustang belonging to Everett and Kathleen
Moore from North Carolina, he has put a motorcycle frontend on this car and
calls it a car tryke. They belong to an international organization called the
(Brothers Of The Third Wheel). They have over 5,000 members worldwide.
Our losers included tonight were George and George with their 1986 Cutlass, Tony
and the 1994 Corvette and it was good to see Ed back tonight who had his 1988
Corvette here. Dennis was back with his 86 Monte Carlo, Mike and Seth had the
1992 Sonoma and Bob B with the 2005 SSR. Kelly was on block 4 with her 2002
Dodge Ram and Eric had his PT out tonight.
Toby Buck is our Cruiser of the Month for January. He has a 2004 PT Cruiser.
Billy with his 2001 PT and Ralph's 2001 were also parked with him.
Congratulations Toby. Some of the cruisers got their jackets tonight for being
cruisers of the month, they are: For August it was Vinny, for October it was
Dave Skord, he also bought Mesha one, for November Glenn Winston and for
December Gary Collins. Kathy also got a jacket. The band on stage tonight was
Denny Diamond. Ted was out taking many pictures which you will see on the web.
The Cruise-O-Matic was $600.00 but no takers tonight.. The 50/50 was $44.00 and
was won by Gerald who donated his back to the Joe Rodhouse Fund. Thanks Gerald.
We had 163 registered cruisers.
See you all next week.
