story

We parked our '67 Dodge Dart 270 on Trophy Row about 2:45, Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage Bill & Doris had their '79 T-Bird next to him, Stan, Maryann with granddaughters Samantha & Elizabeth had their '10 VW Jetta next in line, then Larry & Gator’s 2004 Dodge Hemi Truck was next in line. Ray parked his '32 Ford Coupe north of the stage, Lynn brought out her '08 Avalanche, Lori was in her '04 Expedition, Nick arrived in his '32 Ford Coupe, Jim was in his '73 Jag XKE, Tom & Bunny brought out the '66 Malibu, Dale was in his '57 Chevy Wagon, Ed & Sherry were in their '88 Corvette, Charlie & his neighbor Kathy were in his '02 BMW Mini, George arrived in his '05 Yukon, Joe, Kathy, Paul & Kathy were in a '68 Mustang, John, April & Grandson Michael were in their '54 Chevy, Ray joined us in his Honda Civic, Vinny was in his '04 Dakota, Tim & brother Gill arrived in his '87 Olds Cutlass bringing the total number of Cruiser Cars to 21. Tony & Marianne were out in their daily driver Cisco, Nely, Sebastian & Aunt Maggie will bring a '67 Cutlass next time they come out. Mesha was taking care of the memorabilia table for the Dukes and Chris was taking pictures.

We paid our weekly visit to the office and merchants then met up with Larry WA3PGL, Linda KA3BRP and Dave KF8CI for our walk to Flippers. We had a good spectator crowd including Tony & Sue from Tex Mex, Don, Carlene, Anna, Kim & Lindsey. Jazzmine and her Mom came to visit on their way back to Georgia for the summer. The weather was beautiful although we did have a handful of raindrops. The Dukes started entertaining us at 6:00, they tried to giveaway candy in answer to trivia questions but it was too hot for the candy. We had our regular staff Tracy and Scotty on duty and our volunteers Dave & Gary who was assisted by Gary Jr, Ann and David. We missed Kelley and wish her every success in her endeavors.

We had 20 participants for the 7:30 stroll after which Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser #147 Nick Cortese in his '32 Ford Coupe.

Maryann did a great job selling 50/50 tickets Dave a spectator from Winter Haven had the winning ticket for the $65 jackpot.

Kim picked Cruiser #3 Emil Horwitz who was not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $125 next week.

Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week, to the Old Town Merchants Association for sponsoring “The Dukes”, to Out of This World Embroidery/Custom Tags, The Old Town General Store, Knives & Things, Toy Time, Electronic Town, The Gold Hut, Kandlestiks, Wound ‘N Around and Old Town Leather, to Tracy Old Town’s Events Director who brings us the “Little Darlin’s Street Party” event to Gary & Dave our volunteer staff and to all of the Spectators and Cruisers with or without their cars, who come out “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” to make this a great evening in our “Home Town”.
