It was just after 3:15 when we parked our '67 Dodge
Dart 270 on Trophy Row Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage,
Steve walked over to the office Dave was the next to arrive in his '83
Grand Marquis followed by Stan & Maryann in their '05 Escape and Bill &
Doris in their '79 T-Bird. When Steve got back we headed to Flippers
Tom, Bunny drove by with Jim & Joy in his '66 Malibu, Bill arrived in
his '63 Parisienne all five joined us after they had parked their
vehicles. The only other arrivals while we were eating were Ray in his
'32 Ford Coupe followed by John in his '57 Chevy 210.
After we got back to Trophy Row set up the 50/50 and greeted Jim and
Craig, Bert & Ernie arrived in their '66 Comet Wagon, Greg & Carol in
their '40 Ford, Pablo & Nilda brought out their '96 Taurus, Ann brought
Pat in her '92 Corvette and Vin brought Chuck in his '65 Comet. We had a
nice surprise Ralph & Ulla strolled into Trophy Row with pictures of
their new puppy and '35 Plymouth. Gayle was the only one of his group
out tonight in his '34 Ford Coupe the others had gone to see the Blue
Man Group at Universal, Rosemary & Dan arrived in her 2000 Mustang
Convertible, Bill & Carrollyn in their '59 Pontiac, Nancy was in the '91
Mustang Convertible she assures us that Pep is fine just waiting for the
warmer weather to return. Lori was in her daily driver tonight we
welcomed Alan in his '72 Mustang, Mike & Seth brought out the '92
Sonoma, Larry & Karen "ITZA40" arrived on Saturday for the season and
joined us tonight, Glen seems to be enjoying his '65 VW, Juan arrived in
his '66 VW Notchback, followed by Juan in his '76 Mini 1000, Laura was
in her '98 Firebird, "Red Racer" Ted brought out his Camera, Lynn was in
her '49 Ford Pickup and last but not least Rene joined us on his
bicycle, the total number of cruiser cars was 26.
I saw quite a few of our regular spectators among the crowd enjoying Jim
and Craig’s entertainment at one point in the evening Gary counted 27
couples dancing, he has a good vantage point from the balcony were he
operates the spot lights, this was in addition to the ladies doing their
line dancing. Scotty was on duty and Tracy did some ticket selling, Gary
and Dave are so versatile you never know where they are going to be
next. I nearly got to the end without mentioning the weather it was cool
but not too bad, there were many stories about the conditions up north
being shared from family reports. My Denver grandchildren are
disappointed they have not had a flake of snow to play in, I am told the
mountains protect them so plans are being made to take them on an outing
at the weekend to “visit the snow”.
Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser #96 Bill Ash with his '63
Parisienne, Bunny did a great job selling 50/50 tickets Cruiser #77 Juan
had the winning ticket for the $58 jackpot. Cruiser #122 James Butler
was not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $100 next week Cruiser #44
Nancy Nichols went home with the Valvoline case of oil for her '91
Mustang Convertible.
