story

We visited the office and parked our '67 Dodge Dart 270 on Trophy Row by 3:15, Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage and was "carting" around with Scotty setting up for the evenings event. Stan & Maryann had their '80 Eagle parked and had gone to visit the stores, Bill & Doris arrived in their '79 T-Bird, Dave parked his daily driver by the Cruise Office, John Foster was zipping around on a scooter after having a chat he went to get his Cruiser. We headed off to Flippers for an inside meal tonight we were joined by Mike & Carol in their '74 Dodge Dart back from Ontario, Tom & Bunny arrived after parking their '66 Malibu, Fred drove by in his '61 Corvair his visits seem to be shorter but it must be that time is going faster.

Back on Trophy Row Dale arrived in his '27 Ford, Juan in a '69 Toyota Corona followed by Juan in his '76 Mini 1000, we welcomed Dave & Nancy in their '57 Chevy 210, Lynn was in her '08 Avalanche, Morris joined us in his '50 Ford Coupe, Charlie brought his '02 BMW Mini out but had to leave early. John returned in his '55 Chevy Bel Air having parked his scooter, Rene spent the evening with the Tropical Breeze Group, Ralph & Ulla stopped by for a visit, Rosemary & Dan were in her 2000 Mustang Convertible, Wilson brought out a '93 Miata, Lori was in her daily driver, we welcomed Elmer & Francine in their '66 Chevy Super Sport, Glen was in his '65 VW, Larry & Karen were in "ITZA40" and were accompanied by family, last but not least was another first timer Gerald in his '96 Ford Ranger who brought the total number of Cruiser Cars to 21.

It was hard to tell if it was colder than last week or just windy and by the Dukes started their first set it did not look as though we were going to have many spectators. They must have been keeping warm in the stores because once they heard the Dukes there was suddenly spectators and dancers. Our friends from Holland came for their last visit to Old Town before returning home. We set up the 50/50 table and Bunny had steady sales, the Dukes even sang an extra couple of songs because she had a line when they were due to finish their set.

Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser #70 Maryann & Stan Mull with their '80 Eagle. Bunny did a great job selling 50/50 tickets and Cruiser #132 Morris Rausch had the winning ticket for the $58 jackpot. Cruiser #178 David Meal was not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $150 next week. The case of oil donated by Valvoline went home with Cruiser #93 Glen Sturgeon in his '65 VW.

Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week, to the Old Town Merchants Association for sponsoring “The Dukes”, to Out of This World Embroidery/Custom Tags, The Old Town General Store, Knives & Things, Toy Time, Electronic Town, The Gold Hut, Kandlestiks, Wound ‘N Around and Old Town Leather, Valvoline, to Tracy Old Town’s Events Director who brings us the “Rock at the Clock” event to Gary & Dave our volunteer staff and to all of the Spectators and Cruisers with or without their cars, who come out “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” to make this a great evening in our “Home Town”.

We were pleasantly surprised again with the turn out and gratefully thank everyone who participated in another great evening being entertained by the Dukes and socializing with friends old and new, the end of the cold spell might finally be in sight and this will make our Wednesday’s even more enjoyable.

See you all Next Week “Same Time, Same Place”

It was good to have "The Dukes" back on our stage!
