Arctic Blast - Rock at the Clock

We arrived just after 3 pm in our '67 Dodge Dart 270 after visiting the office we parked on a deserted Trophy Row, we were soon joined by Stan & Maryann in their '05 Escape, Dave arrived in his daily driver, Bill & Doris were in their '87 Chevy S-10. We welcomed Glen in his ‘65 VW Beetle who has been a regular Snowbird spectator from Massachusetts he has brought a cruiser with him this year to “join in” he is also a HAM Radio operator K1GHS. Gary moved his '07 HHR Sherrod into place by the stage.

We headed to Flippers and opted to eat inside to replace the lost heat between our layers, although it was cold for the locals it was a prelude to what was in store for us.

Rosemary & Dan arrived in her 2000 Mustang Convertible, Fred & Betty were in their daily driver, Nancy left Pep at home and brought out the '91 Mustang Convertible, Laura brought out her '98 Firebird, Ron left his cruiser at home tonight, Tim brought out his '87 Olds Cutlass bringing the total Number of Cruiser Cars to 9.

Tonight the Dukes Craig and Jim made their debut for our Wednesday Night “Rock at the Clock Event” and despite the cold put on a great show. Yvonne and Jan had planned their vacation from Holland around the Duke’s schedule. Anna represented the “Tropical Breeze Group”, Dottie, Tim, Marcia & Frank came from Lake Alfred to listen to the Dukes and plan to come regularly during this winter season. Jean & Clive with some friends came for one last visit before returning to an even colder Yorkshire, England, our radio friends Sue & Ian with their son Scott came to say their goodbyes they are headed back to Manchester all will be back later in the year. Bunny phoned earlier in the day to say she wasn’t feeling well and needed to stay home and keep warm.

Allan, Scotty, Tracy, Gary and Dave were trying to keep warm and carry out their duties. It was a light turn out but most stayed until about 9 pm enjoyed each others company and the entertainment. Let’s hope the “Arctic Blast” will be gone by next week.

Steve did award Cruiser of the week to Cruiser # 79 Bill & Doris Moore in their '87 Chevy S-10. The 50/50 and the Cruise-A-Matic was put on hold until next week.

Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week, to the Old Town Merchants Association for sponsoring “A Tribute to the King”, to Out of This World Embroidery/Custom Tags, The Old Town General Store, Knives & Things, Toy Time, Electronic Town, The Gold Hut, Kandlestiks, Wound ‘N Around and Old Town Leather, Valvoline, to Tracy Old Town’s Events Director who brings us the “Rock at the Clock” event to Gary & Dave our volunteer TCB guy’s and to all of the Spectators and Cruisers with or without their cars, who come out “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” to make this a great evening in our “Home Town”.
