Steve went up to the office about 2:30 I
stayed in the car soaking up the sun, we headed for Trophy Row were Gary
had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage, he was out and about with
Scotty taking care of “set up”. We parked our '67 Dodge Dart 270 in it’s
regular spot as did Bill & Doris in their '87 Chevy S-10, I must
apologize to their son Keith for not mentioning him while he was here
visiting his Mom & Dad. Dave parked his '83 Grand Marquis next to them,
Stan & Maryann were next in their '05 Escape. Once we had taken care of
our errands to Out of this World Embroidery and Wound ‘n Around we
headed to Flippers after catching up with Bruce in the Gold Hut and
Brian & Donna in the Leather Store. Even though the temperature was a
lot higher than it has been for the last couple of weeks we opted for a
table inside were John took care of us.
While we were eating Joe arrived in his '65 Thunderbird, Fred in his '61
Corvair, he joined us once he had parked, Tom & Bunny had Jim & Joy with
them they are here for a couple of months they arrived in her '68
Fairlane, Wolfman & Sue were in their '03 F150 "Wolfwagon", Greg & Carol
in their '40 Ford and Richard in his '99 Neon.
Back on Trophy Row Bert & Ernie arrived in their "Elvis Tribute" PT
Cruiser, Rod in his '89 Ranger, Rosemary & Dan in her 2000 Mustang
Convertible, Nancy brought out the '91 Mustang Convertible Pep is
staying home keeping warm and I don’t blame him. Dale brought out his
'27 Ford, Glen was in his '65 VW, Mike & Annette were in their '63
Corvair Spyder, Tom & Barbara were in their '65 Impala, "Red Racer" Ted
was in his work van but came out to take pictures. Tim arrived in his
'87 Olds Cutlass, Laura arrived in her 2004 Trailblazer the Firebird did
not want to come out to play tonight, John & Sandy in their '55 Chevy
Belair brought the total Number of Cruiser Cars to 22.
The Dukes had arrived and started their first set before all the cars
had finished arriving, there was a fair sized spectator crowd including
Anna, Joe and Pat.
At 7:45 the Dukes handed Steve the mike so he could make his awards and
drawings. Cruiser of the week went to Cruiser #76 Fred Moritz in his '61
Corvair.
Bunny did a great job selling 50/50 tickets Beverley a spectator from
Vermont had the winning ticket for the $48 jackpot.
Cruiser #48 Tom & Bunny Jaggers were out in her '68 Fairlane so they
went home with the $75 Cruise-A-Matic, next week we start over at $25.
It was obviously Tom & Bunny’s lucky night they had the winning ticket
for the Valvoline case of oil.
Everyone enjoyed the evening especially the more seasonal temperature,
don’t forget the Dukes accept requests and have their schedule posted on
their website.
