Merry Christmas to one and all.
Let's not forget the reason, we owe our all to him. We had a great week here at
Old-Town. Wednesday we had a very nice cruise and a good crowd and another great
show with our friend Dwight Icenhower. We thank him for the tribute to our armed
forces. Today Friday was our Christmas Cruise, there was rain in the forecast
but none fell on our parade, and what a good crowd of spectators we had, we
thank them one and all. After a very good Christmas dinner we cruised our S 10
down to Old-Town and went to visit friends that work there.
It still looked a little like rain but Barry came in with his 2009 PT Cruiser
then Stan brought his 77 Pacer but no Maryann tonight. Monchito with his 2006
Chrysler was next and at 5 o'clock Lee and Dave arrived and wished us a Merry
Christmas and left us in on the brick streets of Old-Town. Gary was out early
and had everything set up for the cruise, he is also cruiser of the month for
December with his 2007 HHR.
Miguel and the rest of the crew were out working on this Christmas Day and a lot
of tourists came in early. We had a nice chat with Rod and Debbie who spend 6
months in Michigan and 6 months in Florida. They have a 1989 Ford pickup which
has 35 inch wheels, great cruiser. Ramon came in with his 2006 Mustang. Joe and
Penny were cruising their 1984 Ford truck, Penny's dad gave them this truck in
California and they drove it to Florida. They have big plans for this cruiser.
Not cruising but visiting were, Butch and Jennifer, two of our favorite DJ's
also Mustang Mike and Emma, (we would like to see more of them). Tom and Bunny
came down to spend Christmas with the cruisers and they rode in the cruise with
Mark who had his 2004 Pickup out tonight. Doug and Joanne were out visiting.
Block 4 was fairly full tonight, Billy had his 2005 PT, Toby with his 2004 Pt,
Taz with another 04 PT and Rhino with his 05 PT followed by Chuck and Jade with
their 1981 Camaro and Jon and Angie with their 78 Pontiac Formula.
Ted (our ace photographer) was out so we will have some great pictures of this
Christmas Cruise. Our under the stairs gang were all in place: Bert and Laverne
with the 2007 PT Cruiser, Pablo and Nilda and the 1996 Taurus, Pep and Nancy
with the 1991 Mustang, Lynn had her 2009 Avalanche and Lori with 2006 Charger.
Keith was also with them , we have not seen him for awhile.
Karen had her 2007 Mitsubishi decorated very nice for Christmas. A few more we
noticed were Jay and his 2002 Corvette, Sean Rogers with a 2006 Nissan, Tim and
his 87 Olds, Glenn and Stephanie with their 2007 Shelby and Eddie and Chelica,
they had a 2005 Chevy Colorado. Gerald (Mr. Pontiac) also spent the evening with
us and he brought his 1996 Ford Ranger. We know we missed a few but we thank
everyone for coming out on this Christmas Day.
Peanut Butter Company were entertaining on stage tonight. This is a very good
band and thanks Tracy for getting our entertainment. If you didn't know, one of
Old-Town's traditions is free coffee hot chocolate and cookies for the cruisers
on Christmas and we thank them for this.
We lost a good friend and an Old-Town staff member this week. We will have a
tribute for Joe Rodhouse this Wednesday at 6 O'clock. We will miss you Joe.
We had 78 registered cruisers and a great crowd. The 50/50 was $69.00 and went
to the Joe Rodhouse Fund. The winner was Bunny Jaggers and she donated her half
to the same fund. Thank you Bunny for being so generous.
No takers for the Cruise-O-Matic. We want to thank Allan and all our staff for
spending their Christmas with us, also our many sponsors who contribute to the
cruise.
See you all next week.
