Testing 1

This is what makes cruisers special. A couple of years ago we lost the back up light lens for our 79 T-Bird. We and a lot of our friends were unsuccessful in finding one, so I made one out of Plexiglas. Not too great. Last year at this time, Mike, a visitor from Virginia, on a one week timeshare visit was admiring our

T-Bird on a Wednesday night. He noticed the home made lens and remembered he had a T-Bird once and had a lens somewhere back home. He looked us up and said he did not like to see a nice car missing a part. He took our name and said, he would make us a gift of this part. Great. Well, he went back to Virginia and we waited. He told us later he looked all over for the lens but could not find it. He even thought he might have been mistaken. A few weeks ago, he and his buddy were hunting for some other item and came across this lens, well Mike thought of us and last week we got a call from him. This is his timeshare week and he said he had our part with him. We agreed to meet Wednesday. We did and renewed our friendship and now our T-Bird will be sporting a new back up lens. Thanks to the generous act of a fellow car lover. Mike and his lovely wife Dana love Old-Town and visit every time they get to Florida. Thanks again to a new friend.
Our friend Ernie was out visiting tonight. We have not seen him for a long time. Stan and Maryann had their granddaughter Elizabeth with them tonight, she likes to come to Old-Town and to chat with some friends she has made here. The Pacer was in it's regular spot.

Bob Lanctot came down from the Ocala area with his 1988 candy apple red Mustang convertible. He has a new mascot that you would have to see to believe. His sister and brother-in-law were visiting and joined us at the Steakhouse. We also met his girlfriend Alice, we think she will like it here at Old-Town.

We met another first time cruiser, who is Doug Berdan who brought out his 2007 Kodiac Bear Chevy. It is diesel powered and Doug said he gets 15 miles to a gallon of gas. This big truck has 4 doors and you can pull the couch out and make a bed. He also had his friend Dalton with him tonight.

Jay was not cruising, his Corvette was getting a paint job but Bob B with his SSR, and Chris Mohler with his Pontiac and Mike with his Sonoma were all in their regular spots. The Losers were all here tonight, even Ed, who has to work most of the time. Dennis was near the Bull Ride with his Monte Carlo and Albert with his Trans AM was down near the office. This seems to be their favorite spot. We spotted Cecil with his 1985 Silverado Truck. Felix stopped by but his Scorpion won't be ready for a week or so.

Block 4 was quite full tonight. The Wolfwagon was first in line, it is getting some new graphics. Toby, Ralph, Billy and Bert and Laverne had their PT,s on block 4. Kelly had her beautiful 2002 Dodge Ram and Jon and Angie arrived around 7 with their Pontiac.

Down by the stage were the regulars, Ken and Audrey with their Mustang, Pablo and Nilda with their Taurus, Andy and Mickey also Ken and Sharyn with their truck. Ken Keel with his buddy Charlie were parked across the way with his International Pickup. George Pennachi was parked further down the line with his great 2005 Yukon. Lynn and Lori were also among the many regulars that gather around the stage. Lori is having trouble with her leg and we hope she gets well soon.

There was no school today so Doug and Joanne got to spend the day at Old-Town today. Joe, our spectator friend was out enjoying the music of (Night Fire), a new band for Old-Town. They were very good.

Karen came out with her 2007 Eclipe Mitsubishi----good thing, she won a flag. Look for some good pictures on Steve's web site because Ted (our ace photographer) was out snapping some great pictures for your enjoyment. It was a beautiful evening for our 164 registered cruisers. Remember each and everyone of you are important even though you are not mentioned by name. We thank you all.

The Cruise-O-Matic was $300.00 but no takers tonight. Our 50/50 of $37.00 went home with Dawn. We thank Allan and all the crew, our sponsors and all involved for another great night. Remember cruisers, we pull into our parking spaces after we cruise. Not back in.
