We
had a beautiful night for our Friday night cruise, no rain, at least not at
Old-Town. The weather was not as hot and humid as it has been. We guess our
Fall weather will be here before we know it. Since it was such a beautiful night
we had 169 registered cruisers who came out to enjoy the cruise and to
fellowship with their many cruiser friends. Allan gave us some good news
tonight, starting next week we will be back on the brick street parking before
the cruise. This is by permit only so we are asking all cruisers to be on their
good behavior and be at your cruiser by ten minutes before nine and be ready to
cruise. We thank Allan and Old-Town for getting this done for us.
We
decided to cruise with our 79 Thunderbird today. Bill Hunter was already in line
and had his 2003 beautiful decorated Ford truck with him tonight. Stan and
Maryann were there with the 77 Pacer. We want to congratulate them on their
wedding Anniversary. Also Maryann had just retired from McDonald's after being
there for almost 30 years. Best wishes and good luck to both of them.
Shorty after a lime green 1994 Isuzu pickup arrived then Paul Harrold and Nikki
came in with their 1987 Grand National Buick. Paul has had some health
problems and missed a few weeks sure is good to have them back. Also in line was
Tony (Loser 2) who had his 1994 Corvette. Ken and Audrey and their 2006 Mustang,
and George (Loser No. 3) also George (Loser No. 31/2) with their 1986 Cutlass. A
little further back were some more early cruisers.
Dave
was working and would not be in for awhile so Gary and Lee registered us and let
us into Old-Town. When you see these guys thank them for all they do for us
cruisers. All of Allan's crew is doing a great job.
We
had our regular meal with Stan and Maryann and headed out to visit with our
Old-Town family and friends. Our PT cruisers were spaced out tonight. Yolando
with her 2006 close to the stage, Toby on the end with his 2004 PT, Bert and
Laverne were down on block 2 with their 2007 PT and our latest cruiser Bob had
his 2006 PT. Billie had his 2008 HHR instead of his PT Cruiser. Ken and Audrey
were next to the stage with the 2006 Mustang, Ed (Loser No,1) with his 1988
Corvette and Bob and Norma had their 2006 Mustang with them.
Kelly
was back with her 2002 Dodge Ram truck, Nancy and her 1991 Mustang, Nilda had
her 1996 Taurus. We are proud of our lady cruisers. Mike had his 1980 Corvette
on block 1. In our area was Vinny with his 2005 Dakota, (no longer cruiser of
the month), Dennis and Linda had their 1986 Monte Carlo, Gearld brought out the
1996 Ford Ranger and Tim Messer had his 1994 white Jeep. Also he had his family
with him. Chuck and Linda had their 2 beautiful Corvettes with them. She also
received her beautiful jacket tonight for being cruiser of the month for May.
We
met another first time cruiser tonight, Al and Pat Kirk from Ft. Washington,
Maryland were cruising their 2003 Corvette. They are also celebrating their 40th
wedding anniversary which was August 23.
Some
more dedicated cruisers we saw were Chris Mohler------1975 Pontiac, George
Pennachi------2005 Yukon, Felix----1978 Scorpion, Jon and Angie----1978 Pontiac
and Chuck and Jade with their 1981 Camaro.
Tom
and Bunny were not cruising but visiting tonight. Also Mark, owner of the beast
was visiting tonight. A couple more who were only visiting were Joe Jolly, Alan
and Pat and another couple who are always at Old-Town are Larry Nace and Elaine
York. Michael and his daughter Brittney were also cruising their 2003 Dodge
Viper.
Cruiser of the month for September is Freddyson Quinones who has a 2003 Yellow S
10 Xtreme. It has wide red striping and Tweety wrote on the back window.
Congratulations.
Our
Cruise-O-Matic tonight was $125.00. No takers tonight. Our 50/50 of $44.00 was
won by Gerald (Mr. Pontiac). We also thank all our sponsors for all they do for
the cruisers.
See you all next week.
