AHOY MATES---or is it just
AAAAARW----yes it's talk like a pirate week-end again and this is our 3rd year
to celebrate it here. When Allan came up with this idea we had never heard of
this national holiday. Yes it is a national holiday--check it out. We did.
Old-Town has made this quite an event. Seems everyone wants to participate.
Decorations and costumes and even many spectators join in the fun. There are
many strange characters roaming the streets of Old-Town. Then we have some cute
little pirates hanging around like Esther, Nikki, Mesha, Chrisanne and a few
others. We hope you (checked) out our (pirate ship) parked-----we mean
docked---near the office. This year we have added 2 great looking canons mounted
on the bow. These were designed and constructed by our own Captain Gary, a very
dedicated cruiser and a member of our very capable crew. If you checked his golf
cart--we mean his pirate ship---you would find a beautiful treasure chest also
designed and built by Gary and yes it did have treasures in it. Good job
Gary--we appreciate you and all you do for us. Good looking outfit Allan--we
mistook you for a real pirate. Thank you Geri, Tracy and all involved in making
this a great night. Some say we act like a bunch of kids, well lets make that
Captain Kidds, we have fun here and that's what life's all about. Come out and
join us any Wednesday, Friday or Saturday for a great cruise.
We had our S 10 Chevy pickup and we had a full line of early birds in line by 5
o'clock. Lee and Gary registered us and we began another happy cruise. We talked
to Paul Brennan from Kissimmee, who spent a long time decorating his 2001 Ford
Ranger for this event. He had his buddy with him who also has a great looking
pick up truck. Maurice and Amber Wood drove over from Zypher Hills for their
first Friday night cruise with us. They have a very nice 1977 Yellow El Camino,
we hope to see more of them. Also Ted and Bev Wozniak had their rare 1981
Imperial. They reside in Port St. Lucie.
Our PT Cruiser gang was back on block 4 with Wolfman and Bill Hunter and their
great trucks. Also a couple of Pirates, Jon and Angie and Chuck and Jade were
also there. Paul Harrold and Nikki were also there. Congratulations Nikki for
your win in the Olympics.
Tony and Susan, from Tex-Mex Express were back with their Mercedes Benz, thanks
Tony for everything. It is always good to see Ken and Sharyn Dodge in their
favorite spot. We miss them when they are not here. They had the 78 Ford with
them tonight.
Most of the regulars were out tonight, sorry we don't have the space to mention
all names but you are all important cruisers to us and the cruise.
We had another sponsor tonight, the Pirate Dinner Show, they generously gave two
dinner tickets away. Our good friend George Pennachi, a Friday and Saturday
cruiser was the lucky winner, Congratulations and thanks George.
We had 193 beautiful cruisers to register tonight. Our Cruise-O-Matic will go to
$200.00 next week. No takers tonight. Our 50/50 was $39.00 and went to Tony and
Susan from Tex-Mex Express. Congratulations and welcome to our cruise.
Cruiser of the month for September is Freddyson Quinones with his 2003 Yellow S
10 Xtreme.
See you all next week.
