story

75 Cars made their way to the Sonic, it was a beautiful spring day and evening, a few "Snowbirds". most of them have headed back home, then there are a few that will be with us until Easter. Linda & I headed to the parking lot at the Wal-Mart next to the Sonic in Saint Cloud, a little later today, that work thing got in the way. "Mustang" Mike & Emma were already set up when we arrived. It was a day with a few clouds in the sky but not much chance of rain. We would back our '67 Dart into it's usual spot at 4:35. Ron A would rumble into the lot with his 502 Powered, '61 Caddy, Tony & Marianne would bring out their SS454 Monte Carlo shortly afterwards. Paul would be out in his "Toy Truck", Jack would be out in "Old Yeller" and park next to him. John arrived in his '57 Chevy and took the spot under the shade tree. Chris would park his '75 Formula 400 across from us. Bob would take his favorite spot for the SSR, James would park next to him in his '67 Firebird, Jean would park her '36 Ford  next to Jack. "Cousin John" would bring his '72 deVille out tonight. Bill K would park his '81 Blazer just up from John, Jim & Shirley would park the Jeepster next to him. Don would bring out his '68 Mustang GT 'Eleanor" with it's new paint. Steve Mc, K4SKM, would bring out his '64 Corvair, "Big Mike" was in his daily driver, Linda joined him later. Mike & Seth were in their Sonoma, "Bo" and "Bruiser" brought out the '70 Monte Carlo, John R would park next to them with his '66 Mustang.

The night was great, lots of friends and the cars! Two young ladies were among us tonight from the Venture Crew 192, Jenn Clancy and Brittani Haydel are Venture Scouts. They are offering a discount savings card worth $350 for $10 to raise funds for a Back Packing Adventure to Philmont, New Mexico on July 16 that they hope to take part in.  They will be back next week as well, let's help these girls out.

Spectators included "Bill the Photographer", Pat & Allan, Will, Brian & Pepper along with John, KG4BFJ. The "Front Line" was filling up, Bob's '68 SS396 Chevelle, "Big Jim" and Norma's Berretta, Dan & Liz's '62 Chevy 409, Phil & Fran's '86 Z-28, Greg's '85 Camaro, Gary & Wanda's "Shoe Box" Chevy, Steve & Carol's '67 Camaro SS/RS, Steve & Donna's '68GTX, Bill's Pro-Street Vega it was a site to see. "Lucky Louie" would park his  '50 Ford next to Dick's  2+2 that was across from Bob in his '40 Buick. Steve Charlie and Marie would park the '77 deVille next to us and Neil & Elaine would have the '62 Triumph on the other side. Ed & Sarah were out in the the "Short Box" Chevy pickup. There was a "Scott Rod" and the "Wild Thing" down in Hot Rod Row. Rich even had "Bananas" out tonight. Steve & Amanda were out in their '56 Chevy,  Laura had her '61 Vette next to Steve's '71 Chevy pickup. Roger had his '62 Nova SS by John & Sandy's  '53 Merc. Ralph was out in his newly acquired '67 Mustang convertible and son Bob was in his '64 Corvair convertible.

It was a busy night and I know I missed a few in this report, you'll just have to come out and see for yourself. Yes, Hank  less the BAJA bug, Timmy in his dally driver and George in his "Heirloom Falcon" would be the last to arrive.
