story

We arrived on Trophy Row around 2:30 in our '67 Dodge Dart 270, Gary parked his '07 HHR Sherrod by the stage, Larry parked his '93 Chevy Pick Up next to us, Bill & Doris parked their '87 Chevy S-10 next to Gary. We were all optimistic that this evening would bring a larger crowd than we had had in the last few weeks, the rain chances were minimal and there was a nice breeze. We headed to Flippers accompanied by a sprinkling of raindrops, after Mike brought our drinks Tommy arrived to set up his keyboard, John took over serving us Tom & Bunny arrived, they joined us at Flippers after parking her '68 Fairlane, Joe, Harriet & Michelle drove by in their '65 Thunderbird, Chris in his '75 Formula 400 and Mike in his '92 Sonoma.

Back on Trophy Row Bob arrived with Fran’s sister Fenna in his '68 SS396 Chevelle followed by Nick & Fran in their '32 Ford Coupe, we had a visit from Erin, Danny & Edwin in an '86 Monte Carlo, Wolfman arrived in his '03 F150 "Wolfwagon". Dave was in his daily driver tonight Ray parked his '32 Ford Coupe north of the stage by Bob & Nick, Charlie arrived in his '02 BMW Mini accompanied by his neighbor Kathy, Rosemary & Dan arrived in her 2000 Mustang Convertible, Ted was in his work truck but came out to take pictures, Jerry & Judy were in their '86 Fiero GT, Bert & Ernie brought his Mom out in their "Elvis Tribute" PT Cruiser, Laura N0400 was in her '98 Firebird, Pete & Mary were in their 2005 PT Cruiser bringing the total number of cruiser cars to 19 just one short of a cruise.

The spectator crowd grew substantially and included visitors from Rotterdam Flores & Paul, Charlie and Joan from Winter Haven that also had friends along, Sue KK4SUE & Ian K4ZPZ from the UK with a complement of neighbors and friends, even though it was a school night “Jazzmine was in attendance with The Tropical Breeze Group” mainly to bid farewell to Bill & Karen who are heading up north to “pastures new” we wish them every success and hope they will visit often.

“The Blue Suede Review” with Shawn as lead guitar & Sarah, Tommy on the keyboard, Robert was substituting for Jimi on the drums and Paul on bass guitar were set up and awaiting the arrival of Dwight & Vicky. Mike Singer KJ4GNI was at the controls of the “Blue Room”, Gary & Dave, Allan, Tracy and Scotty were kept busy all evening, Radio Check Ins included Graham G4HFG, Emil KJ4GNH, Tony K4AVD. We had a treat tonight with Shawn performing one of his Buddy Holly numbers and Dwight brought a couple of other ETA’s on stage to join him. Dwight and the band sang a rendition of “Happy Birthday” to Bill Moore and a surprise birthday cake provided by Bunny.

Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser #79 Bill & Doris with their '87 Chevy S-10 after the first set.
Bunny got to sell 50/50 tickets tonight and did a great job Cruiser #6 Bob Berube had the winning ticket for the $62 jackpot.
Cruiser #200 Ellis Hagerman was not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $125 next week
