story

We parked our '67 Dodge Dart 270 on Trophy Row about 2:30, Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage, Joe & Harriet arrived in their '65 Thunderbird and parked next to us, Bill & Doris parked their '79 T-Bird next to Gary. Emil surprised us arriving in his '48 Ford "High School Flame", Dave parked his '63 Avanti and waited for Jo Ellen & Morgan to arrive, Dave & Nikki arrived in his daily driver.

After we arrived at Flippers Tom & Bunny arrived in their '66 Malibu, Tommy drove by to set up his keyboard, Tom & Marylou arrived with Kurt & Ann in their '57 Bel Air visiting from Ormond Beach. Charlie arrived in his '02 BMW Mini, John in his '57 Chevy 210, Bob in his '71 Camaro Z28 the Chevelle is on its way to England, followed by Nick & Fran in their '32 Ford Coupe.

We headed back to Trophy Row followed by Ray in his '32 Ford Coupe, Rich in his '87 El Camino, Bill, Virginia & "The Boys" in their '84 Vette. Wolfman & Sue parked their '03 F150 "Wolfwagon", Don, Pat & Harriett arrived in their '39 Chevy, Fred & Betty brought out their '641/2 Mustang, Morris was in his '50 Ford Coupe, Richard & Courtney were in their Friday Nite Cruiser a '99 Neon. Laura arrived in her '98 Firebird, Jerry & Judy were in their '86 Fiero GT, Rosemary & Dan were in her 2000 Mustang Convertible Ted arrived in his work van, Pete & Mary were in their 2005 PT Cruiser, Ken & Wanda arrived in their '78 "Indy Pace Car" Corvette, Tim, Amanda & Family brought out their Friday Nite Cruiser a '94 Jeep, bringing the total Number of Cruiser Cars to 26. Allan & Nikki stayed to supervise a cruise up the bricks as we met all of Allan’s criteria (every other week 20 cruiseable vehicles by 6:30).

As always the spectator crowd included “The Tropical Breeze Group” Coy & Anna, in addition we had a V.I.P. Family from the UK Jean & Clive had intended having a "Dwight Wedding" a couple of weeks ago but Mom Ivy was taken ill and hospitalized. They declared that they would be back in December and thanked everyone at Old Town for their help, support and friendship. By the end of the evening Ivy was wiping away tears of joy as she thanked everyone and said her goodbyes.

Dwight and the “The Blue Suede Review” with Charlie standing in for Shawn on lead guitar, Tommy on the keyboard, Jimi on the drums and Paul on bass guitar provided their usual high quality performance. Vicky had Jan and Sue helping her at the memorabilia table and Wolfman was on stage. Mike Singer KJ4GNI was at the controls of the “Blue Room”, Gary & Dave, Tracy & Scotty were kept busy all evening, Radio Check Ins included Graham G4HFG. Mark Ashman from the NASC would drop by one last time before heading back to the UK. He is already looking forward to their return to Florida.

After the first set Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser # 3 Emil Horwitz with his '48 Ford "High School Flame".

Bunny did a great job selling 50/50 tickets Terry a spectator from Kissimmee had the winning ticket for the $70 jackpot.

Cruiser # 175 Lynn Olsen was not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $150 next week.

At 8:00 PM after the drawings the cruisers headed to their vehicles and the staff were in place ready to cruise all 26 vehicles up the bricks to quite a large spectator crowd. Most of the cruisers returned as the festivities were going to continue during Dwight’s second set, it was Doris’ birthday and a surprise party was planned. Steve announced that cake would be served after the cruise, a card signed by most of the assembled cruisers, performers and spectators was presented, Dwight dedicated a song and Doris’ sister and brother in law arrived to add to her surprise. John Pogue’s birthday was also celebrated but Dwight refused to kiss him. John our regular server from Flippers brought his wife Julie and daughter Erin to experience our get together, they arrived in time for the cake.

Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week, to the Old Town Merchants Association for sponsoring “A Tribute to the King”, to Out of This World Embroidery/Custom Tags, The Old Town General Store, Knives & Things, Toy Time, Electronic Town, The Gold Hut, Kandlestiks, Wound ‘N Around and Old Town Leather, to Tracy Old Town’s Events Director who brings us the “Rock at the Clock” event to Gary & Dave our volunteer TCB guy’s and to all of the Spectators and Cruisers with or without their cars, who come out “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” to make this a great evening in our “Home Town”.

See you all Next Week “Same Time, Same Place”

Next week we all start to park on an angle! It sure looked good last week after the Cruise.
