story

We arrived on Trophy Row about 2:30 in our '67 Dodge Dart 270, Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage, Dave arrived in his '83 Grand Marquis then Bill & Doris in their '79 T-Bird. We headed to Flippers John took care of us, Tommy arrived to set up his keyboard, Larry & Gator drove by in their '93 Chevy Pick Up so did Mike, Stephanie & Seth in their '92 Sonoma.

When we got back to Trophy Row Tom & Bunny arrived in her Hotrod a '68 Fairlane, Ray parked his '32 Ford Coupe north of the stage, Doug arrived his El Camino is ready but he did not go to pick it up because it was “storming” but by the time he arrived at Old Town the storm was moving away and the sun was returning. Bob in his '68 SS396 Chevelle with Nick & Fran in their '32 Ford Coupe parked next to Ray. I had received a phone call to say the family were on their way so I was keeping a “look out” for them when Jeff & Jackie parked their '85 Vette, Laura in her '98 Firebird, Fred & Betty in their '64 1/2 Mustang. The family arrived as Rosemary & Dan turned onto Trophy Row and parked her 2000 Mustang Convertible, Tony & Donna were in their '65 Mustang, Ken & Wanda brought out the '78 "Indy Pace Car" Corvette, Butch parked his '83 El Camino, Pete & Mary arrived in their 2005 PT Cruiser making the total number of cruiser cars to 18.

“The Blue Suede Review” with Sonny standing in for Shawn as lead guitar, Tommy on the keyboard, Jimi on the drums and Paul on bass guitar were set up and ready to play. Bill & Karen had the memorabilia table set up, Dwight & Vicky had arrived, the spectator crowd was growing, Mike Singer KJ4GNI was at the controls of the “Blue Room”, Gary & Dave, Tracy and Scotty were kept busy all evening, Radio Check Ins included Graham G4HFG, Emil KJ4GNH, Tony K4AVD. Bunny set up the table for 50/50 tickets, the family went to find food and we got to keep 4 month old Sean, he was sociable with everyone and fell asleep during Dwight’s first set.

After the first set Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser #16 Steve & Linda Butler with their '67 Dodge Dart 270.

Steve had lots of help drawing the 50/50 tickets grandchildren Caitie, Conner and Sara were supervised by Laura and Dave, Coy a regular spectator had the winning ticket for the $75 jackpot.

Cruiser #99 Ron & Rose Simmons were not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $75 next week.
