When we arrived
at 3:15 in our '67 Dodge Dart 270, Gary had his '07 HHR parked
in his favorite spot. Dave arrived in his '83 Grand Marquis,
Esther & Mesha joined him later, James brought out his '67
Firebird, Bill & Doris were in their '79 T-Bird, Bill in his
patriotic '03 Ranger, Wolfman & Sue in the '03 F150 "Wolfwagon".
On our way to Flippers we met Tom, Bunny, Jim & Joy in the '66
Malibu with Carol, who had flown in specially from New Jersey, to
see Dwight, she was not disappointed. While we were being served
by Mike Nicky Bop arrived in his '32 Ford Coupe, Alice joined
him later, "Mustang" Mike & Emma were in the '64 Greenbrier,
Chris in his '72 Formula 400, Bert & Ernie in their '66 Comet
Wagon were followed in by Darrell with his '66 LTD, Fred with his
'61 Corvair, Greg in his '85 Camaro and Tony & Marianne were in
their '71 Monte Carlo "Black Beauty".
When we got back to Trophy Row, Bill arrived in his '63
Parisienne, Rene was walking around with Artie, he left the
Cadillac, Opera Coupe at home tonight. Jeff & Dawn were in their
'57 Olds, Lynn was in her '49 Ford Pickup, Bob was in his '68
SS396 Chevelle, Nick & Fran were in the '32 Ford Coupe, Mike &
Carol were in a '74 Dodge Dart, Morris & Sherill were in the '50
Ford Coupe, Pablo & Nilda brought out the '68 Chevy II Nova,
John, Sandy and Dawn were in their '53 Mercury, Larry, Karen & Lil came
out in the "ITZA40", Nancy brought out the '91 Mustang
Convertible, Ted arrived in his '06 Nissan "Red Racer", Wilson
was in his '74 Nova, Jerry & Judy were in their '86 Fiero GT,
David & Kathy were in the '30 Ford Roadster. Doug was on foot,
his El Camino is still very sick. Laura in her '98 Firebird was
our last cruiser to arrive tonight making the total 32. Allan
Coffin would join Dwight on stage for a number in his last set.
The Blue Suede Review had filtered in and set up their
equipment, Arne, Bill & Karen and Dwight were ready on time and
7 O’clock seemed to arrive early tonight or was it that the
steady arrival of cruisers kept us busy? Tracy and Scotty were
on duty and Mike Singer, KJ4GNI, was at the controls in the Blue
Room. Dwight and the band started their first set to a very
large crowd which included regular spectators and Neil
introduced some of the 16 members of the Owensboro Kentucky
Antique & Classic Auto Club Max, Francis, Anne, Tony, Earl,
Gina, Ronny, Jackie, Bill, Judy, Russel, Reba, Don & Patty
making their annual visit to central Florida, it was good seeing
them and they enjoyed their evening at Old Town. Radio check ins
included Graham, G4HFG, from Oldham, England, Ed, WB8BHL,
Sherman, W2FLA, visiting from upstate New York and T Rod,
KT4ROD, who was stuck at work.
Cruiser of the week was awarded to Cruiser # 54 Bert & Ernie in
their '66 Comet Wagon.
Emma and her helpers were kept busy with the 50/50 ticket sales,
Claude Pharand visiting from Ontario had the winning ticket for
$211
The $105 Cruise-A-Matic went home with Cruiser # 23 Wolfman &
Sue in their '03 F150 "Wolfwagon".
