story

When we arrived at 3:15 in our '67 Dodge Dart 270, Gary had his '07 HHR parked in his favorite spot. Dave arrived in his '83 Grand Marquis, Esther & Mesha joined him later, James brought out his '67 Firebird, Bill & Doris were in their '79 T-Bird, Bill in his patriotic '03 Ranger, Wolfman & Sue in the '03 F150 "Wolfwagon".

On our way to Flippers we met Tom, Bunny, Jim & Joy in the '66 Malibu with Carol, who had flown in specially from New Jersey, to see Dwight, she was not disappointed. While we were being served by Mike Nicky Bop arrived in his '32 Ford Coupe, Alice joined him later, "Mustang" Mike & Emma were in the '64 Greenbrier, Chris in his '72 Formula 400, Bert & Ernie in their '66 Comet Wagon were followed in by Darrell with his '66 LTD, Fred with his '61 Corvair, Greg in his '85 Camaro and Tony & Marianne were in their '71 Monte Carlo "Black Beauty".

When we got back to Trophy Row, Bill arrived in his '63 Parisienne, Rene was walking around with Artie, he left the Cadillac, Opera Coupe at home tonight. Jeff & Dawn were in their '57 Olds, Lynn was in her '49 Ford Pickup, Bob was in his '68 SS396 Chevelle, Nick & Fran were in the '32 Ford Coupe, Mike & Carol were in a '74 Dodge Dart, Morris & Sherill were in the '50 Ford Coupe, Pablo & Nilda brought out the '68 Chevy II Nova, John, Sandy and Dawn were in their '53 Mercury, Larry, Karen & Lil came out in the "ITZA40", Nancy brought out the '91 Mustang Convertible, Ted arrived in his '06 Nissan "Red Racer", Wilson was in his '74 Nova, Jerry & Judy were in their '86 Fiero GT, David & Kathy were in the '30 Ford Roadster. Doug was on foot, his El Camino is still very sick. Laura in her '98 Firebird was our last cruiser to arrive tonight making the total 32. Allan Coffin would join Dwight on stage for a number in his last set.

The Blue Suede Review had filtered in and set up their equipment, Arne, Bill & Karen and Dwight were ready on time and 7 O’clock seemed to arrive early tonight or was it that the steady arrival of cruisers kept us busy? Tracy and Scotty were on duty and Mike Singer, KJ4GNI, was at the controls in the Blue Room. Dwight and the band started their first set to a very large crowd which included regular spectators and Neil introduced some of the 16 members of the Owensboro Kentucky Antique & Classic Auto Club Max, Francis, Anne, Tony, Earl, Gina, Ronny, Jackie, Bill, Judy, Russel, Reba, Don & Patty making their annual visit to central Florida, it was good seeing them and they enjoyed their evening at Old Town. Radio check ins included Graham, G4HFG, from Oldham, England, Ed, WB8BHL, Sherman, W2FLA, visiting from upstate New York and T Rod, KT4ROD, who was stuck at work.

Cruiser of the week was awarded to Cruiser # 54 Bert & Ernie in their '66 Comet Wagon.

Emma and her helpers were kept busy with the 50/50 ticket sales, Claude Pharand visiting from Ontario had the winning ticket for $211

The $105 Cruise-A-Matic went home with Cruiser # 23 Wolfman & Sue in their '03 F150 "Wolfwagon".

Come on out, "Rain or Shine!" Cruisers, if you don't want to bring out the car because of the weather come on out anyway, lets build the audience on our own.
