Clermont, Florida

Testing 1

Hi, fellow cruisers and classic car lovers. We are in Clermont tonight at the regular second Saturday night cruise-in at Chick-fil-a. We came in with our 79- T-Bird around 4:00. Doug with his 78 El Camino had already picked his spot and was shinning his cruiser. Larry was setting up Jen's Studio B trailer and getting things ready for the cruisers. Seems Jen is out of town again so we will have Larry for our DJ. He does a good job filling in and plays some great oldies for our entertainment. About 4:30 Glen came in with a 1957 Chevy Pickup. Glen belongs to the Classic Iron's Club and resides in Clermont. Then the rain clouds kept everyone away till after 5 when the skies cleared and the cars started in.

One of the first were our friends Bob and Fran with their 1965 4 door Falcon. After we registered many of us went in for a very good meal at one of our favorite restaurants, Chick-fil-a, of course.

When we came back Ernie had arrived with his 1987 El Camino. Also some more cruisers we noticed were Ken Carek with his 1956 Chevy, Chuck with his 1964 and a half Mustang.  Darrel and Betty Kell 69 Mustang, Wayne Greenwell with his beautiful 1938 Chevy and Greg and his 1970 Pontiac. One of our friends who has been out sick for awhile was back tonight with his 1957 Roadmaster Buick. Series 75, only 2204 were built and 49 known left today.

Richard and Leila were near by with their 1964 Fairlane. Also, their son was with them who was visiting from Mass. Dave was there with his dragster as usual. Bob came in a little late with his 1959 Chrysler. A few cars we did not see who the drivers were a 64 Studebaker Hawk, a couple of Corvettes, a Camaro and a Mustang or two. We had 31 registered cruisers and some time some don't register.

Dusty Haven stopped by from work to see how many of his friends were cruising.

Here is a date you want to mark down and remember: First Saturday in December we are having an all Volkswagen Show here at Chick-fil-a. If you have a Volkswagen or know somebody that does, the Cruise-in is from 4 to 8.

Our 50/50 was $50.00 and went home with Mike and Connie Thomas. Also Larry, Rocky and Chick-fil-a gave away quite a few prizes. Thanks to all who were involved.

Hope to see you all next month.
