Welcome cruisers, another great evening at "Our
Town"---- Old-Town for some music, old cars, fun and friends. The weather is
great and the crowd's are getting larger. We have a good thing going here. Come
out and join us any time. Allan and family were out of town but decided to come
back to be with us. We are glad they did. We miss our family when they are out
of town. We arrived early as usual and Al was already in line with his 1999
Corvette.
Bill Hunter came in with his 2010 4 Door Ford truck. He has only had it a couple
of days and he already has a lot of military graphics on it. It is a very nice
truck and something to be proud of.
We had 3 PT Cruisers on block one, Toby (frogman), had his 2004 PT, Ralph and
his 2001 PT and Billie and his 2001 PT. Also on block 1 were Chuck and Linda
with their 2 beautiful Corvettes. Chuck has the 1978 Blue Corvette and Linda has
the 1979 Magenta Corvette. Cody and Ashley brought their 2001 Monte Carlo
Budweiser vehicle. This was only their second time for this cruiser. All the
losers were gathered around the stage and bleachers, Loser no. 1 Ed and his 1988
Corvette, Loser no. 2 Tony and his 1994 Corvette, George Loser no. 3 and George
Loser no 31/2 with their 1986 Olds Cutlass, Ken and Audrey with their 2006
Mustang were next to the stage and Bob and Norma with their 2006 Mustang near
by.
On the other side of the stage block 2 with us were Stan and his 77 Pacer,
Dennis and his son Devon with his 1986 Monte Carlo, Michael and his daughter
Brittany with their 2003 Dodge Viper, Tim and his 1987 Olds Cutlass and it was
good to see Ken and Sharyn back in their spot with their 1995 Ford pickup and
their cute little dog. By the fence in block 2 were Andy and Mickey with their
1979 Cadillac, Ed with his 1983 Mustang and our lady cruisers Lynn, Nancy and
Lori. A cruiser we have not seen for awhile, Tom Riopelle with his 1994 Ford F
150 truck. He also had his father Ron with him and it is Ron's first time and
hope he comes back. Bert, after a couple of weeks under the weather was back
with us tonight. we were talking to Cecil who was showing his 1985 Chevy pickup
and also Miguel brought his 1987 Suzuki Samurai to cruise tonight, he also is a
Saturday night cruiser. We do like to see these older cars come in.
Chris Mohler with his 1975 Pontiac, Mike with his 1990 Corvette, Bob B with his
SSR, Jay had his 2002 Corvette, Larry and Gator brought the 1993 Chevy Pickup.
Jon and Angie with their 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula and Chuck and Jake with
their 1981 Camaro came in a little late around 8 o'clock and had to park at the
end of block 4. Also on block 4 was Ricky with his 2004 Mustang and a lot of the
newer cars we did not interview.
Some of our friends that were out but not cruising are: Tom and Bunny Jaggers,
Pablo and Nilda, Joe and Mary and Doug and Joanne. Also our neighbors from down
our street, Tim and Cindy stopped by to say hi. You don't have to cruise to
enjoy Old-Town but it helps.
Our Cruiser of the Month for August is Vinny with his 2005 Dodge Dakota.
Congratulations Vinny.
Jon Strode bought 5 tickets and took home our 50/50 of $37.00. Dave just pulled
one ticket for the Cruise-O-Matic but no takers tonight. We had 173 registered
cruisers tonight.
Thanks to Old-Town, Allan and his great staff for another safe cruise.
