TGIF: Yes it is Friday and thank God for another
opportunity to head for Old-Town and enjoy life as it was back then. We arrived
around 2:30 with our S 10 and noticed quite a few cars already lined up for
Saturday's big day. This will make 1000 weekly runs on a Saturday night. This is
one of the greatest car shows in the world and we are glad to be part of it. Our
friends Larry and Gator were first in line for tomorrow's opening at 12 o'clock.
Paul Harrold and his daughter Nikki came in with their 1987 Grand National Buick
and he has not been here for awhile. Harry and Kris and their daughter Victoria
came out with two Tundra Toyota's tonight. One is a 2007 and the other is a
2008. Tony (loser no.2) was early tonight, as a matter of fact all losers was a
little early. This was George's birthday and they were planning a surprise party
for George at Kool Katz. We dropped in and wished him a Happy Birthday.
Our 2 lady cruisers were back tonight, Nancy with her 1991 Mustang and Lynn the
birthday girl, we want to congratulate her and wish her many more. If we missed
any other lady cruisers we'll catch them the next time. They had 4 PT Cruisers
on block 1. Toby, the frog man, with his 2004, Ralph had his PT Nomad 2001, and
another one we did not get to talk to. Also Bob Melzer a friend and a long time
regular visitor finally became a Friday night cruiser tonight. He brought his
2006 PT Cruiser, which is electric blue. He has had it about a year. We welcome
him to our cruise.
A few cruiser who were only visiting tonight were Doug and Barry and many of the
Saturday night cruisers that were waiting for tomorrow's big day. Ed Guglich was
cruising his Red Expedition XLT and Gerald was parked next to us with his 1996
Ford Ranger XLT. Ted our ace photographer was out tonight so we should have some
great pictures on Steve's web site.
Around 7 Jon and Angie with their 1978 Pontiac and Chuck and Jade with their
1981 Camaro came by. We usually can find these 4 together. Ken and Audrey and
Bob and Norma were parked near the stage with their 2006 Mustangs.
Chris had his 1975 Pontiac nearby, Mike with his Sonoma his wife Stephanie and
son Seth and Felix with his 1978 Scorpion were all in their favorite spots.
Our friend Emma, her daughter and granddaughter Lillian came out to help Lynn
celebrate her birthday. Dennis and his son Devon were back tonight. They had
just come from a meeting of Devon's Tae Kwon Do. He is doing very well at this.
They had their 1986 Monte Carlo with them.
We were surprised to see Tom Riopelle and his father Ron out again tonight. This
is Ron's second time to the cruise and we believe he is beginning to like it.
They cruise with a 1994 Ford F 150 truck.
Another couple we haven't seen for awhile was Phil and Ann with their 1982
Corvette were parked next to us. Tim with 1987 Cutlass brought his nephew Tim
back with him tonight and also Michael and his 2003 Viper were here. We cannot
mention everyone but we are meeting new cruisers every week. We welcome all of
you.
Vinny has the honor of being cruiser of the month for August with his 2005
Dakota Truck.
We hope Joe Rodhouse gets well enough to visit soon.
Our 50/50 was $70.00 and won by Mike from Auburndale. Our cruise-o-matic was
$50.00 but no takers tonight. We had 136 registered cruisers tonight.
