A hot afternoon, the last week of July, a good
time to be in central Fla. A day trip east or west will get you to some of the
best beaches any where or you could visit one of our great theme parks, or you
could just stay home and work around the house----WORK----NO WAY. So we just
cruise on down to one of our favorite hide aways------Old-Town----Fla.----USA.
No long lines, no sun burn and no admission ever. We do have thrill rides, live
music, classic cars and some of the nicest people you will meet any where, in a
laid back, homey atmosphere we call "OUR TOWN". We did get some "liquid
sunshine" early in the evening but we expect that. We have 3 great cruises every
week but Friday is our night to let you know about what goes on here. We have
Tracy to get some good entertainment and Allan, Dave, Gary, Miguel, Scotty and
some better looking staff like Esther, Nikki, Mesha, Chrisanne and all the rest
of our dedicated crew. Thanks. You all are doing a great job. We also thank all
the visitors who come out to enjoy "Our Town".
We cruised with our S 10 today and got to Old-Town around 2. Barry was first in
line with his 2009 P T Cruiser. Bill Hunter arrived just before we did with his
2003 Ford Ranger. While we were out visiting, Stan arrived with his 77 Pacer,
Buzz and Sue with their Wolfwagon, Larry and Gator with their 1993 Chevy Pickup
and a few more early birds. Dave and Lee left us in a little early on account of
the rain. After we got our favorite spaces we all headed out to our favorite
places to eat.
All the loser gang got their favorite spot by the stage. Tony, Loser 2 with his
94 Corvette, Losers 3 and loser 3 1/2 were George and George. Also Ken and
Audrey were with them with their 2006 Mustang. We only had 2 PT Cruisers who
were occupying block one, that was Toby and his 2004 PT and Ralph and his 2001
PT.
Two of our lady cruisers out tonight was Nancy and her 91 Mustang and Lori and
her 2006 Charger. They are also a part of our Friday Night Dancers. A few other
cruisers that we randomly checked out are Glen Allen with his 1988 S 10 Pickup,
Michael Cavallo had his 2003 Dodge Viper, David and Janet Bass and their 1977
Pontiac Grand Prix, Glenn and Stephanie with their beautiful Ford Shelby, Bill
Denonn with his 79 Olds and Mike with his 1992 GMC Sonoma. It is good to have
Bob B back from his vacation.
Some of our regular Friday Night Cruisers are Vinny and his 2005 Dakota, Tim
came in around 7 with his 87 Olds and he also had his nephew Tim with him.
George came in early and found a good place for his Yukon. Also Mark Dupree
hitch hiked a ride thru the cruise with George. A few regular cruisers but not
tonight were Tom Coupe and his wife Susie, Doug and Joanne were just visiting
tonight. Also Butch Johnston was visiting us tonight.
We had some special guests tonight, a soft ball team from Amsterdam,
Netherlands. They have two cup series to play but most of them agreed that they
were here for 2 weeks to have fun. There were 14 girls and 2 coaches. There were
2 other teams who were from the USA and Brazil but we did not get to interview
them. All 3 teams got to lead the cruise.
This is the last night for Felix Santana to be cruiser of the month.. We want to
wish Jazzmine a happy birthday. She turned 11 today. Congratulations.
Tony our no. 2 loser won the 50/50 of $21.00. Our Cruise-O-Matic of $650.00 was
won tonight by our friends Buzz and Sue. Congratulations. We had 98 registered
cruisers tonight.
We miss you Joe. Hope you get well enough to come out and visit us.
