Happy Fourth Of July, we
want to wish all of you a happy, healthy safe week end. We will be with our
family of friends at Old-Town. There is many ways to celebrate the birthday of
our great country, ball games, picnics, parties, cruises and so much else to do
but lets not forget the main reason we have this holiday. The great men and
women who made this a free nation in the first place and all our military
personal that fought and many died to keep it free. We want to give thanks to
all the men and women who are watching over us now to keep this nation great.
Lets keep God in our pledge Allegiance, on our money and all our government
property. After all this great nation was built on this belief, our constitution
was written with this in mind, lets not fall from within.
Our good friends from Ocala, Bob and Brenda with Bob's 1988 Mustang were waiting
in line when we arrived today. Brenda brought her grandson Chris and his
girlfriend Alexis. Also Dianne and Pete, Bob's sister and brother-in-law joined
us at 5 o'clock.
Stan came in with his 77 Pacer. Russel Claphand from Ocala came in with his 1996
Red Corvette, also Donna was with him. Scot Davis had his 1996 Ford Saleen, he
is also a Saturday night cruiser. Friends we haven't seen for awhile, Ike and
Nancy showed up with their 1977 Corvette.
Mark Dupree led the cruise tonight with his 2004 Ford truck. Because he had a
giant flag mounted in the bed, it is the Fourth of July weekend. He had his
daughter Jessie and son-in-law Billy and his grandson Ryan. Nick and Fran were
with him too.
Some cruisers were just visiting tonight, Tom Coupe, Ken Keel and his friend
Charlie and Doug and Joanne. Also our neighbors from down the street made it out
tonight. We were glad to see Mustang Mike and Emma. Gerald was late so he had to
park his 1996 Ford Pickup down on block 4 with the newer modified vehicles.
The usual gang found their favorite spot near the stage, Bob and Norma with
their 2006 Mustang, also Ken and Audrey with their 2006 Mustang, George and
George with their 1986 Cutlass, Tony (Loser 2) with his 1994 Corvette and Ed
(Loser no. 1) made it out tonight. Usually if you find one of them you will find
the rest of them.
On the other side of the stage we parked our S 10 pickup. Our neighbors there
was Pablo and Nilda with their 1996 Taurus, Pep and Nancy, her 1991 Mustang,
Bert and Laverne with their neat 2007 Elvis PT Cruiser, Vinny's 2005 Dodge
Dakota was in his favorite spot, Ken and Sharyn had there 1995 Ford Pickup,
Cecil had his very nice 1985 Chevy truck, and Bary"s 2009 PT. George Pennachi, a
dedicated Friday and Saturday night cruiser had his 2005 Yukon decorated for the
Fourth.
Kelly Cunningham was back with her 2002 Dodge Ram. Ralph was the only PT on
block one. Chris with his 1975 Pontiac, Larry with his 1993 Chevy Truck, Bob B
and his 2005 SSR and Mike and Seth with their 1992 GMC Sonoma were all parked
near the office. Tom and Bunny enjoyed Eddie and the Cruizers on stage with us.
Our new cruiser of the month for July is, Felix Santana with his 1978 Scorpion.
He chose Jimmy Rodriguez from Polk City to share the honored spot.
Our 50/50 was $ 71.00 and went home to Lakeland with Sandy Brown. Our
Cruise-O-Matic was $550.00. Dave pulled 9 numbers but just could not give it
away. We had 178 registered cruisers. We are growing.
See you all next week.
