Another beautiful Florida night
for our cruise at Old-Town. Believe it or not this is our anniversary and we
chose to spend it with our family of friends at one of our favorite places. It's
a fun place to be. We have a special treat tonight and Saturday night also. Our
friend and great entertainer, Dwight Icenhower will be on stage to entertain us
and he does a great job. Stop in either night or any Wednesday and meet him and
his lovely wife Vicky and see a great show. The backup band is "The Blue Suede
Revue" and believe us they do a super job. They are great guys to chat with and
get to know. We also have a cruise in with some very nice vehicles on each of
these nights. Come on out and catch some old friends and met some new ones. You
might be glad you did. We cruised on down from beautiful Clermont with our
little blue S 10 pickup. We were first to arrive but Bary with his PT Cruiser
was close behind. Stan came a little later and brought his pretty little
granddaughter Elizabeth with him. She likes to visit Old-Town and be with
friends she has met here. Maryann had to work tonight. Before 5 o'clock we had a
full line of early birds. Lee is back from vacation and we are glad to have him
with us again. At 5:00 Lee and Dave greeted us and got us registered for
tonight's cruise. All is well----God is good.
After our lunch at the Steakhouse we went to check on the other cruisers coming
in. We met Dick from Orlando with his 2005 PT Cruiser, he was parked down on PT
corner, "block 1" with his PT Cruiser friends, Ralph with his 2001 PT and Toby,
(frogman), with his 2004 PT. Bert and Laverne chose to park their (Elvis PT)
with them.
Gerald was on block 2 with us with his 1996 Ford Ranger as was Andy and Mickey
with their beautiful, one owner 79 Cadillac. Bob Roper was near by with his 2007
Corvette and his dog Rosey. Vinny also had his favorite spot with his 2005
Dodge. Vinny also keeps the flag winner spots open after the cruise. Paul
Harrold found his favorite spot also for his 1987 Grand National Buick.
Two people that deserve a mention here are Tom and his mother Hynek, from
Kissimmee, they are regular spectators and hardly ever miss a cruise. Hynek and
her husband will be married 55 years July 10th. She is 81 and does not look it.
Another friendly one we met is Cheryl, a hostess at Kool Katz on Friday and a
server the rest of the week. She was off tonight and came out to enjoy the
cruise and music.
Butch Johnston was in the blue room playing our oldies. Ken and Audrey were next
to the stage with their 2006 Mustang, Bob and Norma with their 2006 Mustang,
Tony, (the Loser) with his 1994 Corvette and George and George had their 1986
Olds Cutlass. You usually can find this bunch together. George Pennachi was
early enough to get on block 1 with his 2005 Yukon.
Kelly Cunningham from Kissimmee has been cruising with us since May 15th. She
was driving her 2002 Dodge Ram with flames painted on it. Robert and Aulia came
all the way from Tampa to show their 2008 Dodge Challenger. Alfonso brought his
beautiful red 1986 Cadillac, Felix with his 1978 Scorpion and Cecil was cruising
with his 1985 Chevy Pickup. We like to see these older cruisers come in.
Bob B with his 2005 SSR, Larry with his 1993 Chevy Pickup and Mike with his 1992
GMC Sonoma were all parked up near the office.
This is Chris', with his 1975 Pontiac, last night as Cruiser Of The Month for
June. Allan and his dedicated crew did another fine job.
The Cruise-O-Matic was not given away tonight. Our 50/50 of $64.00 was won by
Jon again. Believe it or not, two weeks in a row. Also his friend Butch won a
flag tonight. Congratulations to both of them and the other flag winners too. We
had 131 registered cruisers tonight.
See you all next week.
