We had a great
11th Anniversary Cruise last week. We had a record number of
cruisers for a Friday Night, 326. We thank all the proud owners
that brought their vehicles out to show, also Allan and his
dedicated crew, Old-Town and a great bunch of spectators from
all over to share our hobby. We have had a good 11 years but now
it is time to start over and we will try to make this a better
and safer year and we know we can do it with the help and
respect of all us cruisers.
We start our new year with a beautiful evening. We brought our S
10 tonight and shortly after Bary Goldman came in with his 2009
PT Cruiser, followed by Stan with his 77 Pacer and Tony (the
Loser) with his 1994 Corvette and soon we had a line of early
birds. As we waited for 5 o'clock Allan stopped by for a chat
with us as did Gary. Stan and Doug joined us for our evening
meal, Doug's cruiser is not ready yet.
Ken Keel was out visiting but not cruising tonight. His sister,
Margie, from Atlanta, is visiting him and their father just
turned 88. Congratulations. Our Loser Ed was out with his 1988
Corvette, as was Ken and Audrey with their 2006 Mustang, George
and George's 1986 Cutlass and also the other Loser Tony. Toby
with his 2004 PT and Ralph with his 2001 PT were on block one
also Ricky had his 2004 Mustang. Bert and Laverne decided to
park their PT Cruiser up near us. They had little Mitchell and
his grandmother with them tonight. Pablo and Nilda were next to
us and Ken and Sharyn got their favorite spot for their 1995
Ford Truck.
Tim Andrews, from Kissimmee, a good friend and a regular at
Old-Town stopped to chat with us tonight. Due to a couple of
accidents Tim was in a wheel chair for 6 years, a doctor told
him he would not walk again but he has proved them wrong. He is
in some pain but he us walking right well with a cane. It shows
what you can do when you have will power, were proud of you Tim.
Up near the office we found Jay with his 2002 Corvette, Bob B
with his 2005 SSR, Larry had his 1993 Chevy truck and Mike with
his 1992 GMC Sonoma. we also spotted Felix with his Scorpion
there.
Andy with his beautiful 79 Caddy and Dennis with his 1986 Monte
Carlo were in the vicinity. Ted, our ace photographer, was out
with his camera tonight so expect some great pictures on the
internet. George Pennachi came in a little late tonight and had
to park down on block 4. Bunny and Tom, regular cruisers but not
tonight came down to visit and to be with their friends. Bob
Wagner had his 2006 Mustang but Norma had too much to do and did
not make it.
Alfonso Soto from Kissimmee, had a very nice older car, a 1986
red Cadillac. He also brought Milly and Larry, his sister and
brother-in-law to enjoy Old-Town. Another great older vehicle
was 1981 Volkswagen Bus made into a camper. It sleeps 4 and the
top raises for standing room. It is owned by Bob Bryce from
Altamonte Springs. Bob is also a Saturday Night cruiser and this
is his 3rd time out on Friday.
Chris is cruiser of the month for June with his 1975 Pontiac
Formula 400. Jon and Angie were his guests tonight with their
1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula The Cruise-O-Matic was $500.00
tonight but no takers. Our 50/50 was $34.00 and went home with
Jon Strode. Congratulations Jon. We had 189 Registered Cruisers.
See you all next week!
