Welcome to Old
Town and our 11th Anniversary Friday Night Cruise. It is hot,
but what a beautiful night to be with friends at one of our
favorite places. We have been growing steady for 11 years and
getting better all the time. It has been over 2 years since we
joined Steve and Linda and writing for this great little news
paper and enjoying every week of it. Where does the time go.
Over a year ago Ted, our ace photographer joined us and added a
lot to what was a good thing. We have some great pictures and
some interesting cruise news. These are great friends to work
with and Allan and his staff keep our cruise running smoothly.
Thank you Gary, Dave, Lee, Esther, Mesha, Miguel, Chrisanne,
Nikki and all the rest of you. A new band "Old School" was on
stage tonight and the cars kept coming in.
We arrived early this morning with our S 10 about 8 thirty or
nine but when you are with friends time goes pretty fast. At 12
o'clock they took our cruisers pictures and sent us into trophy
row. Dave and Gary gave us our numbers and some other goodies
including a beautiful 11th year license plate and the
Anniversary Cruise was under way.
Tony, the loser, had to work night shift but he was first in
line followed by Bob and Brenda from Ocala with his 1988 Mustang
and Barry Goldman with his 2009 PT Cruiser. Phil and Ann from
Lake City with their 1982 Corvette and we had quite a few early
birds.
We parked near the stage with Stan and Maryann who had their 77
Pacer with them. Also Joe and Penny with their 1988 Ranger.
George Pennachi with his great looking 2005 Yukon, Ken Keel who
hasn't cruised for awhile had his 1978 International Truck, he
also had his friend Charlie with him. Paul Harrold got his
favorite spot. He had made a poster board with all 11 cruise
anniversary plates. Very nice. Dennis was also there with his
1986 Monte Carlo.
Ed (loser no.2) and his wife Sherry were back after missing a
few weeks. Toby was back with his 2004 PT Cruiser on block 1.
About 2:30 Bob and Norma came in and took their favorite spot
next to the stage. Dave had his 2007 HHR and his wife Bev was
back from Mass. It was too hot for him so he had to leave early.
Ken and Sharyn 1995 Ford Truck, Gerald 1996 Ford Ranger, Pep and
Nancy 1991 Mustang, George and Geoge 1986 Cutlass, Ken and
Audrey 2006 Mustang, Chuck and Jade 1986 Camaro were some of the
many regulars that showed up tonight.
As we strolled around we met some more of our cruisers. We came
across Linda and Chuck with their two great Corvettes. Charlie
Muniz came from Orlando with his 1979 Jeep. Karen came all the
way from Sebring with her 2007 Mitsubishi. Down by the roller
coaster we spotted Ed Gangwisch, 1984 Pontiac Parisienne. Mike
Day from Apopka had his 1979 Camaro Z28 here for the first time
on Friday night.
Mark Dupree a regular Saturday night cruiser showed up to cruise
with us tonight with his 2004 3/4 F 250 pickup to cruise with us
tonight.
Another first time cruiser tonight, Michele Levert from
Titusville had a 1996 Oldsmobile. Her father had given this car
and believe it or not the motor was painted pink.
Bob B with his 2005 SSR, Larry, Jay with his 2002 Corvette were
parked near the office also Mike was nearby with his 1992 Sonoma
GMC.
Chris is cruiser of the month and invited Jon and Angie to be
his guest to share the honored spot. Ryan Fontaine and his buddy
were out with his 1989 Cadillac.
We set a new record for a Friday Night Cruise. We had 326
registered cruisers, good going gang. The 50/50 was $70.00 and
went to Orlando with Josh. The Cruise-O-Matic was $425.00 Dave
pulled 12 numbers but no takers tonight. We had a great cruise
on a beautiful night.
See you all next week!
