We arrived at the
office at 2pm earlier than usual to be told that the wedding vow
renewal that we were expecting to take place this evening was in
fact taking place at 3pm. We headed to Trophy Row, Gary had phoned
to let us know he was running late, Allan updated us with the
changes in the “set up” arrangements not wanting cones to appear in
the wedding photos. Wolfman had his '03 F150 "Wolfwagon" parked
north of the stage, Sue joined him later. We parked our '67 Dodge
Dart 270 in it’s regular Wednesday spot, Bill & Doris arrived in
their '79 T-Bird they had to find a temporary parking spot until the
wedding vehicles vacated their regular spot, Stan & Maryann arrived
in their '05 Escape.
Dwight arrived to get ready to perform the ceremony, wedding guests
were arriving, Jan had decorated the stage, Doves were in their
“love nest” waiting to be released. After Allan had performed the
sound checks and Dwight started singing as he walked down the stairs
from the “Blue Room”, Jean the Bride and her two maids made their
entrance from Deac Hundley Blvd, Clive the Groom and his Groomsman
took their place on the stage followed by Dwight they greeted the
Bride as she arrived on the arm of Wolfman. After the ceremony and
the traditional dance the Doves were released and cameras were
flashing everywhere. Before they left Clive and Jean left a cake
with Tonya at the “Tropical Breeze” to be distributed to all in
attendance after the cruise drawings.
After the wedding party left Gary parked his '07 HHR Sherrod in it’s
usual place and Bill moved their T-Bird next to it just in time for
Dave in his '83 Grand Marquis to park next to them, Mesha & Chris
joined him later. Mike managed to escape from work and joined us in
his '63 Corvair Spyder. We headed to Flippers for our usual dinner
time meal John was waiting for us. After we had sat down Ray arrived
in his '32 Ford Coupe, followed by John in his '57 Chevy 210 shortly
after Tom & Bunny arrived in her '68 Fairlane, they joined us for
dinner after they were parked.
Pep & Nancy arrived in their '91 Mustang Convertible, Richard in his
'99 Neon, Lynn in her '49 Ford Pickup and Rene in his Cadillac,
Opera Coupe before we got back to Trophy Row if the arrivals
continue at this rate we were in for a good sized car count. The
evening was beautiful the temperature had risen into the 80’s during
the sun filled day, rain was forecast but not until late night
and/or early morning.
Ken arrived in his '76 International P/U, Lori was in her daily
driver, Mike arrived in his '92 Sonoma, Rosemary & Dan parked her
2000 Mustang Convertible and informed us that her Mom had made it
safely home. Gayle arrived in his '34 Ford Coupe, Raul in his '72
Pontiac Le Mans, Erin in his '86 Monte Carlo. Don, Pat & Harriett in
their '39 Chevy parked next to Gayle, Ann & Vin brought out her '92
Corvette. Debbie arrived in her '99 "Elvis Tribute" Cavalier, Dave,
Jo Ellen & Morgan were in their '08 Kia again tonight the '63 Avanti
is still receiving TLC, Bert & Ernie parked next to us in their
"Elvis Tribute" PT Cruiser, Ron joined us in his '63 Corvette, Jerry
& Judy were in their '86 Fiero GT, Pete & Mary were in their 2005 PT
Cruiser and last but not least Frank arrived in his '68 Corvette
bringing the total number of Cruiser Cars to 28.
The spectators were arriving as steadily as the cars and the “Blue
Suede Review” was set up on stage, Mike was in the “Blue Room” Tracy
and Scotty were mingling, Donna had escaped from the leather store
for a short break. Jan and Sue had the memorabilia table set up,
when Dwight and Vicky arrived the entertainment started.

Bunny did her usual great job selling 50/50 tickets we had two
jackpots of $50 each the winning tickets were held by Judy a regular
spectator from Lake Alfred and Cruiser Ken who donated his winnings
back to the “kitty”, Thank you Ken. Cruiser #169 Ron Adamson was not
out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $50 next week. Rosemary & Dan
in her 2000 Mustang Convertible had the lucky ticket for the
Valvoline case of oil.
Mesha, Chris, Tracy, and I went in search of Tonya and the wedding
cake left by Clive & Jean at the “Tropical Breeze” it did not take
long for us to serve the cake to all who wanted a piece, Thank you
Clive & Jean for including us in your celebration the cake was
delicious. It was time for Dwight to return to the stage for the
second set of his performance. A busy rewarding day in our “Home
Town” was coming to an end, it was time for the weary travelers to
head home.

Clock” event to Gary & Dave our volunteer TCB guy’s and to all of
the Spectators and Cruisers with or without their cars, who come out
“Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” to make this a great evening in our
“Home Town”.
