story

An early morning phone call informed us of the loss of Joe Rodhouse a fellow cruiser, friend and member of Old Town Staff, his family are making arrangements to commemorate his life at Old Town next Wednesday. This prompted us to head out earlier than usual to visit the office before parking our '67 Dodge Dart 270 on Trophy Row opposite Gary’s '07 HHR Sherrod. Paul had his '87 Buick in place, Stan & Maryann arrived next in their '05 Escape, Bill & Doris brought out their '07 Buick, Dave was in his '83 Grand Marquis, Albert & Friends were made welcome in their '99 Vette.

Yes you all know what comes next, we head to Flippers for food while we were there Lynn arrived in her '49 Ford Pickup, Pablo & Nilda in their '96 Taurus, Doug in his '78 El Camino, Bob & Darlene in their '37 Ford, Tom & Bunny in her '68 Fairlane, Richard in his '99 Neon, Pep & Nancy in their '91 Mustang. Back on Trophy Row we welcomed Greg & Carol in their '40 Ford, Rene brought out his Cadillac, Opera Coupe, Ann had her '92 Corvette and Vin was in his '65 Comet. The arrivals continued steadily including spectators and “The Blue Suede Review”, Mike Singer KJ4GNI was at the controls of the “Blue Room”, Allan, Gary, Dave, Tracy and Scotty were kept busy all evening, Jan & Sue had set up the memorabilia table ready for Dwight & Vicky’s arrival.

Ray was in his '32 Ford Coupe, William had his '71 Mustang, Rosemary & Dan were in her 2000 Mustang Convertible, Lori had her '06 Dodge Charger, Wolfman & Sue were in the '03 F150 "Wolfwagon", Juan was in his '66 VW Notchback, Bert, Ernie, Mitchell & Granma were in the '66 Comet Wagon Mitchell had brought more fudge to share. Frank had his '68 Corvette out, Charlie & Carole were in their '02 BMW Mini, Steve & Family were in the '69 Olds, Wilson brought out his '74 Nova, Kaes & Lindsay were in their '56 Oldsmobile, Bruce & Lyn arrived in their '38 Ford, Tony & Donna were in their '65 Mustang, Debbie had her '99 "Elvis Tribute" Cavalier, Ken & Wanda were in their '78 "Indy Pace Car" Corvette, Pete & Mary were in their 2005 PT Cruiser we had a '64 Olds parked with us and I did not catch up with the owners. We had a total of 36 Cruiser Cars tonight and a large spectator crowd all out to enjoy the evening.

After Dwight’s first set Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser # 56 Pete & Mary Hauff with their 2005 PT Cruiser.
Bunny did a great job selling 50/50 tickets Joe a regular spectator had the winning ticket for the $65 jackpot.
Cruiser #140 Gayle Weeks was not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up to $50 next week.
Cruiser #79 Bill & Doris Moore took home the case of oil donated by Valvoline.

Cameron, K6CLM, his wife Julie and their 2 girls, Lexis and Kelsey, visiting Central Florida on their vacation stopped out to see just what we were all about. They would stay for part of the second set and tell us that they would be back.
