We parked our '67
Dodge Dart 270 on Trophy Row about 2:50 pm after stopping by the
office, Steve ran into Allan who reported that Uncle Bob had
recovered enough to be on plane returning home to complete his
recuperation. Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked south of the stage
and Larry & Linda arrived as we finished setting up, Bill & Doris
brought out their '87 Chevy S-10 and Dave was in his '83 Grand
Marquis.
We headed to Flippers a little early but not much, while we were
waiting for our meal Rosemary, Dan & her Mom Grace arrived in her
2000 Mustang Convertible for a Flippers Early Bird meal. Stan &
Maryann drove by in their '05 Escape as did Tommy the Keyboard
player. Mike & John took care of us and Trish came out to greet us
when she arrived for her shift.
Back on Trophy Row Richard joined us in his '99 Neon then headed to
work at Mystical Visions suite 179, Tom & Bunny fearing the storm
they would have to drive home in brought out their '02 Dodge, Keith
brought out his '83 El Camino. I know I am not that good at
recognizing the vehicles but even I knew Ray was teasing when he
tried to convince me his custom '05 F150 parked north of the stage
was a '29 Studebaker, I think the Ford emblem on the front was the
give away. John parked his '57 Chevy 210 next to Ray, Ron came out
to his first Wednesday Nite Rock at the Clock with his '51 Chevy
Sedan Delivery, Bert & Ernie brought out their "Elvis Tribute" PT
Cruiser, Ron had planned to enjoy the cruises without a vehicle this
year but after a recent return trip to Iowa he brought back a '63
Corvette, Jerry & Judy were in their '86 Fiero GT, Laura was in her
'98 Firebird. Dave, Jo Ellen & Morgan were out in their '08 Kia the
'63 Avanti is getting a “face lift” and a lot of TLC and I believe
it is enjoying every minute being spent on it. Rene has returned for
the winter with his Cadillac, Opera Coupe although he did not bring
it out tonight. Lynn left her wiperless '49 Ford Pickup at home
because of the threat of a storm and brought out her '08 Avalanche
complete with wipers. Don did not bring a cruiser but came out to
socialize, he had been a guest of the International Car Show at the
convention center over the weekend with his 1965 Blue Convertible
Rambler Ambassador and Debbie in her '99 "Elvis Tribute" Cavalier
brought the total number of cruiser cars to 16.
After the first set Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser #
60 Jerry & Judy Kaminski with their '86 Fiero GT. Bunny did a great
job selling 50/50 tickets Jean from Davenport had the winning ticket
for the $25 jackpot. Cruiser #54 Bert & Ernie Brown in their "Elvis
Tribute" PT Cruiser went home with the Cruise-A-Matic so we start
over at $25 next week. Laura had the winning ticket for the
Valvoline case of oil for her '98 Firebird.
We were extremely fortunate the cold front that was threatening
severe storms delayed it’s arrival until our Wednesday Nite Rock at
the Clock event was finished. Peter Alden and the Blue Suede Review
with Joe standing in for Shawn on lead guitar did a great job
entertaining us along with Gabriel the dancer. It was a light,
friendly crowd who got to enjoy a very pleasant evening.
