We arrived at Old
Town just after 10 am in our '67 Dodge Dart 270, Larry W3PGL was
waiting for us and Laura NO4OO was on her way in her '98 Firebird.
Our early arrival was to install an Amateur Radio Antenna, as we
were getting set up Emil KJ4GNH arrived in his '48 Ford "High School
Flame" to help out and Allan kept a watchful eye on us.
Gary was still the first to park his '07 HHR Sherrod on Trophy Row
next to the stage, Tom & Bunny parked her '68 Fairlane and Bill &
Doris parked their '87 Chevy S-10 before Steve, Emil and Laura moved
their vehicles from Victory Lane to Trophy Row, after we packed up
our installation equipment and before we headed to Flippers. Mike
had already left and John was on duty waiting for us, "Red Racer"
Ted took a break from work and joined us for dinner. Gayle drove by
in his '34 Ford Coupe, Dave in his '83 Grand Marquis, Rich in his
'87 El Camino followed by John in his '57 Chevy 210 and Ray in his
'32 Ford Coupe.
Back on Trophy Row we were pleasantly surprised by the arrival of Ed
“Loser #1” & Sherry in their '88 Corvette their schedules have
changed for a while so they will be able to join us, thanks for the
Pizza. A lone Wolfman arrived in his '03 F150 "Wolfwagon", get well
soon Sue. Ken brought out his '76 International P/U and Charlie
accompanied him tonight, Mike & Stephanie were in their '92 Sonoma,
Tony & Donna were in their '65 Mustang, Rosemary & Dan were in her
2000 Mustang Convertible. Bert, Ernie, Mitchell & Granma arrived in
their "Elvis Tribute" PT Cruiser, Juan parked his '66 VW Notchback,

stopped by for a visit, Pete & Mary arrived in their 2005 PT
Cruiser, Debbie was in her '99 "Elvis Tribute" Cavalier, Ron, Ken &
Wanda brought their chairs to enjoy the evening. Frank arrived in
his '68 Corvette, we welcomed Friday Nite Cruisers Daryl & Thomas in
their 2005 Pontiac GTO, there was a '66 Mustang with New York plates
parked just down from us but I did not get to see who it belonged
to. At 6:30 we only had 18 cruiser cars but by the time the
entertainment started we had a total of 25 cruiser cars.
While we were dining we had not seen Tommy arrive to set up his
keyboard but when we got back to Trophy Row I met John and Jim who
are members or “The Redcoats” a British Invasion Tribute band from
Winter Park. Many of the spectators were familiar with them
including John’s proud parents who are regular “Rock at the Clock”
spectators. I was informed that “The Redcoats” have won “The Battle
of the Bands” twice. Keith arrived with Betsy and his Drums and our
faithful Paul joined them with his bass guitar, Mike Singer KJ4GNI
was at the controls of the “Blue Room” and the stage was set for an
evening of musical memories featuring many popular hits from the UK
with some audience requested Elvis numbers. The spectator crowd grew
steadily with a mix of regulars and visitors, Carol a regular
snowbird spectator has returned for the season “welcome back”.
During the break Steve awarded Cruiser of the week to Cruiser # 135
Ken Keel with his '76 International Pickup. Bunny did a great job
selling 50/50 tickets and Elizabeth from West Berlin, New Jersey had
the winning ticket for the $64 jackpot.
