story

We arrived on Trophy Row a little later than usual in our '67 Dodge Dart 270, Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage, Bill & Doris had their '79 T-Bird parked next to him, Dave arrived in the '83 Grand Marquis Esther, Mesha & Asa joined him later. We headed to Flippers were John took care of us and Trish came to say Hi, Tommy drove by to set up his keyboard, Larry & Stephanie brought out the '93 Chevy Pick Up, Charlie was in his '02 BMW Mini, Tom & Bunny parked their '66 Malibu then joined us, David & Janet drove by in their '67 Plymouth Satellite.

When we got back to Trophy Row Wolfman & Sue arrived in their '03 F150 "Wolfwagon", Rosemary & Dan were in her 2000 Mustang Convertible, Bob brought out his '68 SS396 Chevelle followed by Nick in his '32 Ford Coupe, Ray parked by them in his '32 Ford Coupe. I think the '64 Fairlane was brought out by Richard, Lelia, & Friends, Steve & Amanda were in their '56 Chevy 210, Laura was in her '98 Firebird and last but not least Miguel in his '68 Fairlane brought the number of cruiser cars to 17 a surprisingly good turnout in the rain that started at 6:30 and spent the evening with us.

The spectator crowd was light but included “Jazzmine (who is celebrating her 11th birthday on Friday, Happy Birthday) and The Tropical Breeze Group”. Coy & Jan, Mary & Larry caregivers for Charles came over to say “Hi”, “The Blue Suede Review” with Shawn as lead guitar, Tommy on the keyboard, Keith standing in for Jimi on the drums and Paul on bass guitar were set up. Mike Singer KJ4GNI was at the controls of the “Blue Room”, Radio Check Ins included Mike G1KOT on vacation from the UK, Graham G4HFG, Emil KJ4GNH, Tony K4AVD.

Bunny had started selling 50/50 tickets but had to stop because of the rain, no Cruiser of the Week was awarded and the Cruise-A-Matic will stay at $50 for next week.

Dwight arrived but was not able to get on stage because of the amount of lightening in the immediate area until 8:30 and then for only one set.

Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week, to the Old Town Merchants Association for sponsoring “A Tribute to the King”, to Out of This World Embroidery/Custom Tags, The Old Town General Store, Knives & Things, Toy Time, Electronic Town, The Gold Hut, Kandlestiks, Wound ‘N Around and Old Town Leather, to Tracy Old Town’s Events Director who brings us the “Rock at the Clock” event to Gary & Dave our volunteer TCB guy’s and to all of the Spectators and Cruisers with or without their cars, who come out “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” to make this a great evening in our “Home Town”.

See you all Next Week “Same Time, Same Place”

August 5th:
Weather permitting the drawings will take place about 7:45 after Dwight’s first set and we will cruise up the bricks after his second set at 8:30.
