We arrived about 3
pm in our '67 Dodge Dart 270 Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by
the stage and was buzzing around in his cart getting “set up”
accompanied by Mesha. Bill & Doris parked their '79 T-Bird in their
favorite spot, Dave parked his '83 Grand Marquis next to them Esther
& Asa joined us a little later. Tom & Bunny had to come out in their
daily driver tonight and joined us at Flippers where Tiana was
taking care of us and Mike was telling us about the vacation he is
going on in a few weeks. Tommy drove by and went to set up his
keyboard, it was overcast and drizzling just enough to keep the
cruiser and spectator numbers low. Rosemary & Dan parked her 2000
Mustang Convertible next to us, Laura arrived in her '98 Firebird
bringing the total number of Cruiser cars to 6.
The regular spectators were in place with their raincoats and
umbrellas the Blue Suede Review were set up Tommy, Jimi, Shawn and
Sonny was standing in for Paul tonight, Bill and Karen had the
memorabilia table set up and Dwight entertained us.
Regardless of how many cruisers and spectators arrive Allan, Scotty,
Gary, Dave and the rest of the staff still have to carry out their
respective duties, Thank you one and all. Mike Singer was back at
his post in the Blue Room and Tracy came out to greet us.
We did not sell 50/50 tickets or draw the Cruise-A-Matic however, after the first set Steve awarded Cruiser of the Week to
Tom & Bunny
Jaggers, Cruiser #48, in their '66 Chevy Malibu. The
Cruise-A-Matic remains at $200.00 for next week.
Next Week Wednesday, July 8, 2009 the Duke Davis Memorial Cruise-In
will be celebrating one year of cruising at Old Town during the
“Rock at the Clock” event a commemorative pin will be presented to
the first 200 cruisers in attendance and Allan will be cruising our
vehicles up the bricks at 8:30 pm. Poodle skirts and/or 50’s era
attire will be optional all who attend will be expected to “Have a
Good Time”.
On a personal note I would like to thank everyone for their best
wishes, Steve is taking good care of me and I am trying not to give
him a hard time.
