We were a little
late arriving on Trophy Row today Joann’s Sale is attracting lots of
customers so it was not my usual quick in and out. We had also
stopped by our P.O. Box and received a nice surprise from a couple
who visited during the winter from Canada, they have published a
beautiful article about our Cruises in their magazine “Thru the
Windshield” and sent us a copy, Steve is going to put it online for
all to see, Thank you Ray & Sue.
Gary had his '07 HHR Sherrod parked by the stage, with Wolfman & Sue
in their '03 F150 "Wolfwagon" and Bill & Doris in their '79 T-Bird,
we parked our '67 Dodge Dart 270 and headed for an abbreviated visit
to the Merchants. Tom & Bunny arrived in their '87 Chevy Suburban
and headed straight for Flippers where we joined them.
When we returned to Trophy Row Butch & Stephanie had brought out
their '64 Mercury Comet, Charlie brought out his neighbor Kathy in
his '02 BMW Mini, we welcomed Max in his '87 Pontiac Fiero to his
first Wednesday Night he is a regular Friday Nite Cruiser, Joe,
Tammy & Jeffrey had their '68 Firebird out tonight, Rosemary & Dan
were in their 2000 Mustang Convertible glad to be home after a trip
up north for a graduation. Tony & Donna were in their '65 Mustang,
Mike & Annette arrived in their '63 Corvair Spyder and Laura in her
'98 Firebird brought the total number of Cruiser Cars to 13.
Sonny was the first of “The Blue Suede Review” to arrive tonight
standing in for Shawn, Tommy was not far behind him then Paul and
Jimi arrived and they completed their set up and sound checks. Mike
was in the “Blue Room”, Bill & Karen, Dwight & Vicky arrived,
Scotty, Tracy and Gary were “Taking Care of Business”, the
spectators were trickling in and the nasty clouds passed us by
without emptying their contents on us just cooling us down a little.
We had our usual compliment of Radio Check Ins which included Graham
G4HFG, Emil KJ4GNH, Tony K4AVD, T Rod KT4ROD and Ed, WB8BHL.
The evening was set Dwight started his first set and a few more
spectators arrived to enjoy his performance. The 50/50 was only small tonight
but Tony Fisher had the winning ticket for the $40
jackpot, Doris helped Steve pick the tickets and Bunny handled the
ticket sales, Thank you both.
An extremely surprised Charlie Payne, Cruiser # 22 was awarded
The Cruiser of the Week with his 2002
Mini Copper S.
Eddie Flames, AKA "The Wookie", Cruiser # 10 was not out so the Cruise-A-Matic goes up
to $175.00 next week.
