story

One word, OK so it isn't a word, but,  BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

We arrived just before 4pm in our '67 Dodge Dart 270 there was a white Mustang parked north of the stage, Gary in his '07 HHR Wolfman & Sue in their '03 F150 "Wolfwagon", James in his '67 Firebird, Dave in his '83 Grand Marquis, Esther & Mesha joined him a little later, Bill & Doris were in their '79 T-Bird were all in place, Allan was supervising and Scotty was on duty. T Rod, KT4ROD arrived to spend some time out. We did a quick walk down to the General Store to see Winston and made a couple of stops on the way back to Trophy Row, "Mustang Mike" & Emma in the  '64 Greenbrier had arrived, we all stood around in what was left of the sun then T Rod came to Flippers with us Trish was waiting for us with fresh coffee brewed.

While we were there Bill drove by in his '63 Pontiac Parisienne, Bobby & Arlene in a '73 Mercury Cougar, John, Sandy & daughter Dawn in the '53 Mercury and Tom in a  '65 Impala. Larry & Karen from Canada in "ITZA40" came to their first Wednesday Nite of the season as did Friday Nite Cruiser Juan in an '87 El Camino, Bob in his '59 Corvette made the total number of cruiser cars 14 on this freezing winter night.

Arne was the first to arrive, Peter came prepared with two heaters, he has a regular engagement at the Seasons 52 Piano Bar he says stop by and see him sometime, Richie Melito lead guitarist with the Tremors was standing in for Shawn tonight and hopes to be at Old Town often, Dwight Icenhower, Paul, and Jimi arrived completing the line up for tonight’s entertainment with Dwight Icenhower and Blue Suede Review, Karen was at the memorabilia table and Bill was ready with water, towels and scarves.

Regular spectators included Jazzmine & Glenda, Coy, Mike Singer KJ4GNI was at the controls in the Blue Room “welcome back”, "Mustang Mike" cancelled the 50/50 and held over the $80 Cruise-A-Matic to next week but did award "Cruiser of the Week" and it went home with Larry Lethby in his '40 Ford "ITZA 40".

Radio check ins included Graham, G4HFG, Emil KJ4GNH and Tony, K4AVD from Wisconsin also came in over the K4ZPZ repeater.

Barb & Lenny Olsen wintering with us from Pennsylvania told me he has two Studebaker’s at home but he will be bringing one down with him next year to join in with us as a cruiser.

Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week, to the Old Town Merchants association for sponsoring "A Tribute to the King", to Tracy Old Town's events director that brought us the "Rock at the Clock" event and to Gary & Dave our own TCB guys for giving us the time that they do and to all of the Cruisers that are starting to come out on a Wednesday Nite. Come on out, "Rain or Shine!" Cruisers, if you don't want to bring out the car because of the weather come on out anyway, lets build the audience on our own. Remember good entertainment and good friends makes a great evening in our "Home Town".

Newsletter #227 is on sale, still only $2
