December 5th, 2008
It was a beautiful evening for our first cruise in
December. The regular early birds were all in line by 5 o'clock. We had
our S 10, Buzz and Sue were there with their beautiful 2003 Ford, Bill
Hunter, our proud Marine friend was there with his 2003 Ford, Stan and
Maryann with their rare blue Pacer, our ace photographer, Ted had his
2006 Nissan, Pablo and Nilda, November's cruiser of the month with their
1996 Taurus and last but not least Bob Butler with his great looking
2005 SSR. We come out early for no other reason but to socialize and be
with our cruiser families Just time out to be here.
After Lee, with his regular goodwill, let us in at 5 o'clock and Dave
gave us our cruising number, we got parked on the brick street and then
headed for the steakhouse. Stan and Maryann joined us, followed by
Dennis and Albert. Albert also got lucky and won a flag but never showed
up to claim it.
We spotted Ed Gangwisch 1984 Pontiac Parisienne but we never found Ed.
Angel Rosada from St. Cloud has transformed his 1987 Chevy into a very
nice cruiser. He has added 13 inch wheels and a Landau top. he has also
painted graphics in the wheel wells. This cruiser is a beautiful candy
apple red and Angel has been working on this car for 6 years. His
brother Edwin cruises his 1963 Chevy Impala on Saturday----------but
that is another story.
Gerald had a little bad luck getting to the cruise, he had a flat tire,
the valve was bad and had to use his spare. However, all ended well, he
won the 50/50. Chuck and Linda with their 2 Corvettes were in their
regular spaces. One is pink and one is blue, naturally the pink one
belongs to Linda. The PT Cruisers seem to have adopted Block 4. They
were back again tonight and we welcome them. Paul Harrold and his
daughter Nikki was with him tonight. They were also on block 4. Tom,
Doug and Joanne were out but not cruising.
George and George, Tony (the loser), Ken and Audrey had just come back
from their favorite dinning place (Kool Katz) when we found them. Bob
and Norma were cruising their orange Mustang tonight. The Dodge's were
in their favorite spot with their 1995 Ford truck. Cecil Rivera was back
with his 1985 Silverado truck. We are getting quite a few trucks in our
cruise and we are proud to show them.
We were honored tonight by a visit from Canada's first place Lacrosse
team and also United States second place team. We welcome them to Old
Town and our cruise.
George had his Yukon looking great for the Christmas season. Thanks
George. Ryan Fontaine was out with his 1989 Cadillac. He was proud to
have his cruiser's picture in the Mike Kelley Cruise News. Dennis, who
plays Santa Clause at his wife's school, was parked next to Ryan.
Tonight was the first night of the Toy Cruise weekend, Allan announced
that it was the best collection we have had for a Friday night cruise.
Thanks to our 151 cruisers that registered and donated to the kids.
Gerald (Mr. Lucky) won the 50/50 of $45.00. Cruise-O-Matic of $150.00
had no takers tonight. We could not find Joe tonight, hmmmm---------I
wonder why?
Well, any way, see you all next week.
