This was the day after Christmas and a beautiful evening
for our Friday Night Cruise, the last one in 2008. We had a quiet day at
home and enjoyed it very much. We hope all our friends at Old-Town had a
blessed day also. Now on to the cruise. We brought our T-Bird tonight,
Buzz and Sue with their great looking 2003 Ford truck and Stan with his
blue 77 Pacer were in line when we arrived. Maryann had to work and
could not be with us tonight. Bill Hunter arrived in his beautiful 2003
Ford truck followed by Pablo and Nilda with their 1996 Taurus. Al
Corsetti showed up with his 1999 Corvette. This is a great cruiser, Al
has gone all out to make this a beautiful vehicle. Jack Legere came all
the way from Titusville to cruise his 2006 Corvette. Dave had his 2007
HHR and we had a full line of early birds before 5 o'clock.
Lee and Dave welcomed us onto the brick streets of Old Town. That is
when we learned that our good friend and fellow worker was in the
hospital. Joe Rodhouse was taken in yesterday, we don't have any details
yet but lets all say a prayer for him. We hope all will be well with you
Joe.
We went to the Steakhouse and Stan joined us for lunch. The cars were a
little slow coming in tonight but we had 191 registered vehicles by
cruise time. Block 4 did not fill up tonight. Dave with his HHR, Toby
with his PT Cruiser, Ted, our ace photographer, with his Nissan and Jon
and Angie with their Pontiac Formula.
We met a new friend who turned out to be a new cruiser, Ron Farnham who
was admiring our Thunderbird told us he also had a 1977 Thunderbird
parked down the street. He said he wanted to cruise it sometime so we
told him, why not tonight. We took him to the office where Esther signed
him up and now we have another happy Friday night cruiser. Welcome to
our family Ron. This T-Bird belonged to his Mom who bought it new. It
has been garage kept and it only has 77,000 miles on it. She no longer
drives and she gave this to Ron 2 weeks ago. He wants to bring her down
and cruise in it. We hope she does.
Ken and Audrey with their 2006 Ford, Tony (the Loser), and George and
George our favorite father and son team were in their usual spots. The
Wagners and their 2006 Mustang were also there. And of course, Andy and
Mickey with their beautiful 79 Caddy. Now here is a true cruiser, Karen
Price came in with her red Eclipse. She has a hour and half drive one
way. That is true spirit.
Dennis and Linda were here with their Monte Carlo, they also brought her
brother and his wife who were visiting from Wisconsin. They wanted to
come to Old-Town to see the cars. We want to welcome them and all our
visitors from out of town. We had a very good crowd of spectators
tonight.
We were glad to see Gina, Ted's wife, back with us tonight. She also
brought her best friend and her husband. We are all proud to show off
our cruisers to our friends.
We had a surprise visit by Ed Guglich tonight. As you know he has had
medical and physical problems, he is looking great and seems to be doing
fine. We thank his wife for bringing him out.
Under the stairs gang were all in place and socializing. They were
dancing to the band on stage and exchanging presents. Ken and Sharyn
Dodge were in their usual spot with their 1995 Dodge truck. Felix with
his 1978 Scorpion, Darrel Jones had his 1983 Monte Carlo and George with
his great 2005 Yukon. And all was well with our Friday Night Cruise.
Ted, our ace photographer, who was cruiser of the month for October
received his jacket on stage tonight. Allan invited Mark with his great
Falcon, (Blown to be Wild) to cruise with us tonight. We want to thank
Allan and his great staff for another safe and enjoyable cruise. Our
50/50 was $92.00 tonight and went to Auburndale with Mike. Our
Cruise-O-Matic will go to $250.00 next week. Dave drew 6 numbers but no
takers.
See you all next week.
