November 28th 2008
We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Day. Remember
what the day is all about. Thank GOD for all we have and thank a soldier
for our freedom so we can enjoy our holidays. This is our last Friday
night cruise for November, also Pablo and Nilda's last night as
"Cruisers of the Month." We hope they enjoyed the honor. He invited Andy
and Mickey with their beautiful Cadillac to share the honored spot this
week.
Buzz and Sue were back tonight. Last week we could not find them. Bill
Hunter came in shortly after with his 2003 Ford Ranger. John Leibowitz
was also in line with his 2001 gray Kia, an official Pace Car. John
bought it stock but has customized it. This is only his second time to
cruise with us. Doug Stewart and Doug Kendel were not cruising tonight
but came out to socialize with their friends. Joe and Lee welcomed us in
tonight at 5 o'clock. Dave gave us our number but we did not win
anything. Stan joined us at the steakhouse for our evening meal. We went
out to check out the cruisers and greet our many friends that we have
made over the years at Old-Town.
Block one on trophy row had the Chrysler Club and many Toyotas and the
newer cars that have come to cruise with us. A great looking 1986
Metalic Red Cadillac was parked next to the stage. The proud owner is
Alfonso Soto from Kissimmee, who has owned it for 2 years. This is his
second time cruising. He also won a flag. Cousin Vinny was in his
favorite spot. He also got lucky and took home a flag. We chatted with
Scary Larry who has a beautiful 1986 Ford. We were glad to see Bert and
Laverne back from their vacation. We did not expect them so soon but
Bert said, "it was 19 degrees there." That is a good reason to come
home. They bought some Elvis items while on vacation and plan to buy
some more here. The PT Cruiser is really looking good.
The Satellites were entertaining many listeners and the Old Town dancers
were also enjoying the music. Tracy is doing a great job in getting us
very good entertainment. Thanks Tracy. A few more in that section were
Darrel Jones with his 1983 Monte Carlo. He had to put a carburetor on
it>>>>>> twice. He thinks it is ok now. Also Cecil Rivera with his 1985
Chevy Silverado Truck, Bob and Norma Wagner were out as usual with their
2006 orange Mustang. Ken and Sharyn with their 1995 Ford truck.
Becky, our little blond friend, who we haven't seen for awhile came out
to visit tonight. We also got to meet her Mom and Dad. She is graduating
soon and we congratulate her.
Block 4 was not quite full. Buzz and Sue, Bill Hunter, then John and 3
of our PT Cruiser Club. They had the Frog PT Cruiser, the Rhinomobile
and a black PT Cruiser followed by Gerald, "Mr. Pontiac" and our cruise
was complete and ready to go.
We had 156 registered cruisers tonight. The 50/50 was $74.00 and our
Cruise-O-Matic will go to $150.00 next week. We want to thank all the
sponsors that donate to the cruise, also Allan and his great staff,
Gary, Dave, Lee, Miguel, Esther, Mesha, Chrisanne and all the rest of
the workers that do so much for us. Thank you Old-Town for giving us a
place to show our beautiful cruisers.
See you all next week.
