November 21st 2008
We had a very busy day but we did arrive at Old Town at
1:30. When we left Clermont it seemed like a very mild day but that soon
changed. By evening it got quite cold. Eddie and the Cruzers were
entertaining on stage tonight. Eddie wasn't dressed for the cold weather
so Pep and Nancy (generous cruisers they are), bought him a sweatshirt.
As you know these cruisers are like a family and look out for each
other. Thanks Pep and Nancy.
We had a beautiful 2009 Dodge Challenger parked next to the stairs. This
cruiser belongs to Don Bonser who resides in the Dr. Phillips area.
Dennis came out with his great looking Monte Carlo. He also got lucky
and won a flag. We found another first time cruiser, Sean Courterier who
resides in Ocoee, acquired this 1999 Ford Ranger pickup about a year
ago. He said, " it was a regular work truck and well used. He has done
all the work himself and made a beautiful cruiser out of it. He said,
"he would be back".
Now here is a lucky cruiser. Edgar Chaparro, owns this 1991 red Porsche
and this 1987 white Porsche that we spotted tonight. Naturally Edgar
couldn't drive both of them so his buddy Raul drove the other one.
Pat and Alan had greeting cards that were given to them by the Red
Cross, these cards will be shipped to our troops in Iraq. They were
asking any cruiser or spectator to write an encouraging message in each
card. They had plenty of takers. We do pray for our troops and to let
them know how much we appreciate them.
Block 4 had a full line of cruisers tonight. Bill Hunter with his
beautiful truck (who honors our military), then Paul, Chris and our PT
cruisers were back. There becoming regulars and we appreciate them. Then
Gerald (Mr. Pontiac) filled out block 4.
Doug and Joanne were out visiting but they did not cruise. Pablo and
Nilda, cruiser of the month invited Pep and Nancy to be their guests and
parked with them tonight. We caught up with George and George and Tony.
They were hugging the building and trying to keep warm. Ken and Audrey
were staying in their cruiser tonight, Audrey wasn't feeling well. We
also spotted Jeff Rayside's 84 Cadillac, but never found him. He hasn't
been out for awhile.
Jim Kurzon did not let the cold weather keep him home. As you know, Jim
is still using his wheel chair but we spotted him dancing with Lori.
These girls have been a big help to his recovery. They are to be highly
commended for their generosity.
We tried Allan's new cruise route tonight. Everyone we talked to seemed
to think it was a great improvement. We missed Ted, (our ace
photographer) tonight. We know other cruisers feel the same. We will
miss the pictures of tonight's cruise on this web site.
Our 50/50 of $45.00 was won by a dedicated cruiser and friend, George
Pennachi. George decorates his 2005 Yukon on any occasion. Thanks George
for cruising with us.
The cruise-O-Matic will go to $125.00 next week. Joe could not give it
away tonight. We had a 133 great cruisers on this chilly night.
See you all next week.
