October 3rd 2008
It is October, the fall season has arrived and you
already can tell it in the weather. More cruisers are starting to attend
the cruises since cooler weather has arrived and the rains have slowed
down a lot. We were early as usual and so were Buzz and Sue. Doug took
time off so he could be with us tonight. Tom was back with his green
truck and Sue joined him later.
Al Corsetti, with his beautiful gray Corvette, came out early. He
brought some of his buddies to see the Corvette Show but that is
tomorrow. He sort of got his days mixed up. Al has this 1999 Corvette,
done up to honor his daughter, she served 8 years in the Navy. His
son-in-law is still in the Navy and just went back to Iraq for the 4th
time. We want to thank and pray for all our armed forces.
After Joe and Lee welcomed us on the streets of Old Town and we got
settled in we had a chat with Randy Carroll, from Apopka. We were
admiring his 1994 Roadmaster Buick. He has had it one and a half years
and has added a lot to it. This is his first cruise here. Then we found
that he is a member of the Holy Rollerz Christian Car Club. This is a
world wide club with over 4000 members. He has 4 other cruisers from the
club with him tonight including Alberto Colon with his 1991 Honda Accord
Station wagon. These cruisers belong to the Orlando Chapter. We welcome
them tonight and hope they come back and cruise with us often.
Jay was back with his 2002 yellow with black interior Corvette. He has
it looking very good but aims to add some lights. also Bill from St.
Cloud was out with his 1979 black and gold Olds.
James and his girlfriend cruised with his Corolla tonight. His mom and
dad, (Debbie and Tim), decided to go to the beach to celebrate their
anniversary. We wish them good luck and many more good years. Dave and
Jane have a beautiful 1980 Pontiac Trans Am that they came out to show
tonight. We have not seen them for awhile but are glad to see them back
cruising.
Our good friend Bev just came back from Mass. today. Dave picked her up
at the airport, and you guessed it, they headed out to Old Town to
cruise and be with their friends. We welcome her back.
Our new cruiser of the month for October is none other than Ted, our ace
photographer, with his 2006 Nissan. Gina, his wife, joined him later for
this honor occasion.
If you do not know, we have a great show and cruise every Wednesday
night. Mike and Steve run this cruise. The cut off year is 1987 but any
Friday night cruiser can be grandfathered into this cruise. Tracy has
presented us with some great entertainment on stage for these events. As
of now we have Dwight Icenhower who is an Elvis Impersonator but also
puts on a great show, and Tracy promises much more, (at Rock at The
Clock). We welcome you all to come out and enjoy the fun.
Our 50/50 of $61.00 was won by the (Poinciana Kid), Greg, one of our
cruisers. The Cruise-O-Matic was $300.00. No takers tonight. We had 171
cruisers tonight.
See you all next week.
