It looked like it might be a wet night when we left the beautiful hills
of Clermont with our S 10 for the cruise today. As it happened the
weatherman smiled on us and we had a beautiful night for our 78
registered cruisers. We missed Buzz and Sue, Buzz wasn't feeling well
and thought it better to stay home. Stan came out and had supper with
us. Stan and his blue Pacer did not cruise, he was a little under the
weather. The cruisers were slow coming in because of the threatening
weather. We did chat with Larry Bucher from Sebring who brought his 1984
Buick Regal out. It is powered by a 3.8 Turbo Charged V 6. also Alberto
Martinez had his 1987 Red and Black Mazda out to show. He has been
cruising around 6 months.
Last week our PT Cruisers from block 4 went to a PT Show. Toby and Ralph
were back with us tonight. Toby won a trophy there and Ralph won two.
Congratulations to both of you. Gerald was back on block 4 with his
Pontiac. He had trouble last week with his lights but all is well now.
Tom was visiting but did not bring his green truck to cruise. Also Andy
did not bring his Cadillac out but he and Mickey were out socializing
with our friends and fellow cruisers. Bob Butler, was in the hospital
for 5 days but he was back with us tonight and looking good.
A couple of newer cruisers. Philip Busse drove up from Cape Coral to
cruise with us tonight. He has a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am. This beautiful
cruiser is a collector Edition. They made only 2000 of them and only 458
of this model. Philip belongs to the Pontiac Oakland Club International
(Everglades Chapter out of Naples).
Karen Price from Sebring has a beautiful 2007 Red Mitsubishi which she
brought up to cruise with us. It has very nice graphics and lot of
lights on it. This is Karen's first time out and said she would be back.
She is going to the Cypress Garden Car Show tomorrow, Oct. 25..
George Pennachi is getting his Yukon well decorated for Halloween. It
already looks great. George always has something new for the holidays.
One of our under the stairs gang and a Friday night dancer (Lori) was
celebrating her birthday tonight, we know how many but were not telling.
Happy Birthday. The dancers were out in full swing, enjoying the music
of "Neon Dream", everyone seems to like this band and Tracy is doing a
great job lining up our entertainment.
Our cruise was short and it is near Halloween so believe this or not.
South of Clermont along 27 on a lonely stretch of road with no buildings
for a couple of miles, it is rumored that strange people are seen along
this road at night. We have personally seen a couple of kids sitting
with their feet on the white line at the edge of the road, another time
several people leading some kind of animal and just 3 weeks ago we saw a
shabbily dressed man just standing looking across the road. You never
see them until you are right beside them. Spirits or lonely people?? We
have no answer but something to ponder about. What do you think??
Now back to the real world and our cruise. We want to thank Ted, our
cruiser of the month, for sharing his honored spot with us. No 50/50
tonight. Our cruise-O-Matic was won by our cruiser friend, Dave Garceau
who took $375.00 home with him. Congratulations. We want to thank Old
Town and our great staff for another safe cruise. Also thanks to our
sponsors for what they do for the cruisers and to the many visitors who
come out to enjoy Old Town.
