A lot of rain was in the forecast for this week end but we
ended up with very little for our Friday Night Cruise. All the regulars
were in line before 5 o'clock. Bob Lanctot surprised us and drove down
from Ocala with his 1988 Red Mustang. Bob has done a lot of work since
he bought this car. He has taken the original 4 cylinder motor out and
replaced it with an 8 cylinder which he took out of a 1993 Cobra. He
also had used the Cobra wheels. Bob loves to cruise with us but his work
keeps him away a lot. He also had his brother-in-law and sister out
tonight for awhile.
Al Corsetti Jr. was back with us tonight with his 1999 Light Pewter
Metallic Corvette Coupe. He has added some more lights to it also a few
graphics. He also has a lot of chrome under the hood. He has attended
many other shows and has won quite a few trophies with this little
beauty.
Our favorite father and son couple, George and George, were out with
their 1988 gray Cutlass. This is a very nice cruiser and is very well
taken care of. You often see them parked with the Losers, but we had no
Losers tonight.
Tom Coupe had his Ranger out tonight but did not cruise. He is still
having problems with it. Ralph and Shirley stopped out for a visit but
did not stay long. Tim and Debbie were back after about a month off and
their son James also brought out his Corolla. They have been very busy
at home. We miss any of our family of cruisers when they don't show up.
Also Mr. Pontiac (Gerald) had his Pontiac back on the road again. We
want to thank Tracy, Jeri and anyone else responsible for having Dwight
Icenhower and the Blue Suede Review on stage every Wednesday Night.
Dwight is a great impersonator of Elvis but he is also a very good
performer on his own. This is a great show and those who don't show up
don't know what your missing. Many of our Friday and Saturday Night
Cruisers come out for this event. We also have a regular Wednesday Night
Cruise at Old Town now. If your have 87 or older car or just want to
come out for the entertainment, we just might see you at Old Town any
Wednesday.
This is a little off the record but we have friends that live in
Wisconsin who got married in l954 and celebrated their 54th year this
month. When they got married they went and bought a new 1954 Nash 4 door
Statesman. They still have this car and the last time it was tagged was
in 1973. It has been stored ever since. Their daughter in Texas wants to
inherit this car, what a heirloom this would be. This is just a unique
little story we wanted to share with you all.
We had 96 beautiful cruisers that came out on a rainy evening to enjoy
Old-Town and our great cruise. Thanks to Old Town and our great staff
for another great evening of enjoyment. Bob Butler received his jacket
for being July Cruiser of the Month. Congratulations Bob.
Our 50/50 was $40.00 and went home with Raymond Garcia. The
Cruise-O-Matic will be $125.00 next week. No takers tonight.
See you all next week.
