It seems our visitor, Fay, does not want to leave Florida.
She gave much needed rain to some areas and just a little too much to
others, well we take what we can get. Remember into each life some rain
must fall, but it makes the sunshine brighter. We had a great time
Wednesday night in spite of a little rain. Dwight was back on stage, he
puts on a great show. We thank Old Town for getting this great
entertainer for us. Budweiser is also sponsoring this show.
We had 40 great cruisers that braved the wet weather to cruise with us
tonight. We thank everyone who showed up even with the bad storm in the
neighborhood. Buzz and Sue were early as usual with their 2003 Ford
pickup and we also had our S10 pickup. Pacer man Stan along with Maryann
showed up a little later. Bob also brought out his 2005 SSR. One of the
Losers, Tony came in with his 94 Corvette followed by Ken and Audry with
their 2006 Mustang and the early bird line was full and waiting for 5
o'clock and Joe. Some of them were wiping their wheels but to no avail,
the rain kept coming. We missed Lee tonight but Joe, Dave and Gary took
good care of us. We joined Stan and Maryann at the Steakhouse. Then we
strolled up the streets to see who we could find. We found a beautiful
black Trans Am with gold trim. It has a neat air scoop with an eagle
graphic on it. This very nice cruiser is owned by David Stevens from
Weston, Fl. Don and Jackie has traded their Cadillac for their
newest toy, they now have a 1987 Tan Jaguar, how long will they keep
it???? We don't know. Most of the under the stair gang were present but
they were back against the wall, trying to keep dry. Emma and Mustang
Mike along with Pep and Nancy along with Lynn. Naturally Bert and
Laverne, two very true cruisers were there with a couple who bought his
truck, Ken and Sharyn Dodge. They also had their truck with them. Butch
Brooks and a few others that we may have overlooked. There were no line
dancers tonight, maybe just a little too wet. Ted, our ace photographer,
showed up around 8 o'clock. A little late but he still has to work. We
were glad to see him and you will have some great pictures to see on the
internet. Doug also came in around 8 with his El Camino and we were
ready for our Friday Night Cruise.
Allan was handing out the" Cruiser of the Month "pins to
all who had not received them yet. This is a beautiful pin for all the
cruisers that had the honor of being cruiser of the month. This is very
generous of Old-Town and we cruisers do thank you very much. We had some
lightning and very hard rain about a half hour before our cruise. How
ever we had a very enjoyable evening. We had no 50/50 tonight. The
Cruise-O-Matic will go to $175.00 next week.
