Welcome to our last Friday Night Cruise in June. Remember the great
entertainment we had for our Anniversary Cruises? Thanks to Old Town,
Dwight Icenhower, a great Elvis impersonator, will and has been
performing on Wednesday nights throughout the summer. This guy puts on a
great (A Tribute to the King) show. Try and make an effort to come out to
see this show. Now back to the Friday Night Cruise. It was a beautiful
day and many spectators were on hand when we arrived at Old Town.
Most of our regulars that missed last Friday were back with us tonight.
Buzz and Sue were our first and faithful ones. Doug with his El Camino,
Bill Hunter with his beautiful Ford truck, Ernie with his Pontiac and
many more before 5 o'clock. Ted our ace photographer, was also in line
and busy snapping pictures for our web site. Andy and Mickey with their
beautiful Cadillac were back and took home a checkered flag. We want to
thank Steve and Linda for bringing our news letters to us tonight.
A cruiser friend we have not seen for awhile had his beautiful white
1984 Cadillac. This cruiser has a very unique paint job. It was good to
see Jeff out again even though he has some health problems. Jeff also
has a 1972 Jaguar that he is working on. One of our PT Cruiser friends,
better known as the frog man, has his cruiser decorated with many frogs.
He also entertains the kids by giving tiny frogs to them. He orders
these frogs by the box full from Oregon. He gets about two boxes every
two months. He goes to a car show every week so that is a lot of frogs
to give away.
Another unique cruiser we found was a 1996 Ford Ranger, it has tribal
stripes over a pure white paint job. He also added air bags which will
raise and lower the vehicle. Houston Sigmund from Lakeland acquired this
cruiser when his grandfather passed away. He has done all the work on
this cruiser and is very proud of it. Tim, Debbie and son James had both
their vehicles out tonight. Our sympathy goes out to Debbie and her
family for the loss of her father in England.
Tonight was the night for cruiser wedding anniversaries. Our own
anniversary June 26 marked 54 years of happy marriage. Also on the same
day Dave and Bev Garceau celebrated their 26th year of happiness. Ted
and Gina also will celebrate 18 years of wedded bliss on Monday.
We want to congratulate all who are having an anniversary in June.
We
missed Allan, our friend and leader, who was leaving for China on a
business trip. We wish him a safe journey and hope he gets back soon.
Our 50/50 Of $58.00 went to Daytona Beach with ticket no. 29763. He
bought 6 tickets.
Our Cruise-O-Matic of $250.00 will go to #275.00 next week. Joe pulled 5
numbers but no takers
tonight.
See
you all Next Week!
