Not
having much to do today we cruised down to Old Town with our 87 S 10
pickup a little early, we arrived around 1:30. We can always find
someone to talk to or something to do at Old Town. Doug with his El
Camino came in around 3 o'clock followed by Stan with his blue Pacer.
Maryann was under the weather and we sure missed her tonight. Our
photographer, Ted, came in a little later with his 2006 Nissan. By 4:30
we had a storm brewing, so Joe and Lee let us in a little early. Around
5 o'clock the storm came thru but we made it to the Steak house without
getting wet. We waited the storm out while we had our evening meal with
Stan. By 6 o'clock the sun came out and we had beautiful weather for our
101 cruisers that showed up.
Tonight, lets meet some new and not so new cruisers. We talked to Ken
and Audrey Hawk from Winter Haven, FL They were driving their 2006 GT
Mustang. They have been cruising since December, 2007. They also got
lucky and won a flag tonight. Also Orlando Ballester from Orlando, had
his 2005 350 Z Nissan to show tonight. This car is daily driven and he
has added around $20,000 since he bought it. These cruisers really love
their cars. Orlando also has a 2005 Z Nissan he keeps just for show. He
has added $70,000 extra to this one and has won many trophies with it.
Then Jim Russell drove over from Daytona Beach to show us his 2005,
black and orange Dodge. Now this is a first time cruiser with us, Louis
Marrero from Orlando, was showing his 1982 blue Toyota Starlet. He has
had it only 4 months and is proud of it. Bill Denonn from St. Cloud has
been cruising for 2 years but you may not have met him. He drives this
1979 Hurst Olds which is black and gold, a very nice cruiser indeed.
Jesse Runner cruised in from Ocoee to show off his 2005 Ford Expedition.
He bought this white beauty new but has only been cruising a month and a
half. Another cruiser that has been around for awhile is Alex Tijerina
and his wife Rina, who reside in Poinciana had their 1985 Mazda RX 7
which is another nice vehicle. They have had this cruiser for 10 years
but recently took 2 years to redo it. He has added Tenzo racing seats
but it still has it's rare 12 A Turbo Rotary Engine.
Another first time cruiser is Chris Hobbs from Winter Haven, he had his
1994 black Ford Ranger tonight, he has had it for 4 years now. To show
how well our cruise is known we had a visitor from Columbus, Ohio. He is
only in Florida for 3 weeks but wanted to cruise at Old Town. He drives
a 2002 yellow GMC special edition, which is powered by a 6 liter V 8
motor. We never want to take our cruise for granted, so if you see any
of these fine cruisers any Friday Night say hi to them and welcome them
to our great cruise. We know Allan and our staff will welcome any of you
with a cruiser that you are proud of. We know you will be glad you met
them.
Many of our regulars did not show tonight. Block 4 was empty, but we
managed to have 101 cruisers. Thanks to Old-Town, our staff and all our
sponsors for making our cruise what it is today.
Our 50/50 was $32.00 which went to No. 26151, a second time cruiser. Our
Cruise-O-Matic will go to $250.00 next week. Joe pulled 4 nos. but no
takers tonight.
