What a beautiful day to start the Memorial Day weekend. As
we were enjoying our morning cup of coffee on the porch, a little after
6:30 our neighbors were already water skiing on our little lake. The
weather could not be any better in this land of paradise. We use this
Memorial Day weekend for all kinds of enjoyment, water skiing, cruises,
picnics etc, but let us not forget the real reason for this holiday. If
it was not for our loved ones, who gave their all, we would not be able
to enjoy these good times. We thank them all and will remember their
deeds. We want to thank Bill Hunter, a former Marine and good friend of
the cruisers, for leading our cruise this week-end with his beautiful
2003 Ford Ranger. This truck is very nicely painted to honor our great
country and the proud Marines. We need more good Americans like Bill.
Keep up the good work. As of cruise time we had a good line of early
birds. It was good to see Stan and Maryann back from their vacation to
Indiana. Thanks for the gift. You both are very thoughtful. While
waiting for 5 o'clock we met Bob and Brenda who came down from Ocala to
enjoy our cruise. They are not cruisers yet but they have a 1988 Mustang
and they want to become cruisers with us. They met Buzz, Sue, Stan,
Maryann, Ernie and more of our good friends. They stopped by Tags With
Class and Dennis made up a very nice license plate holder for them. He
is also a member of the Fly Wheelers, down at Avon Park. We had our
evening meal with them at the Steak House.
We do hope they become regulars.
The PT Cruiser Club of central Florida were back again tonight and we
chatted with Toby Buck who has his PT Cruiser decorated with frogs. We
guess we could just call it the frog car.
As we strolled around we met Jose Rivera from PR who was
visiting his sister, he was admiring, as we were, a beautiful white Jeep
Wrangler. It evidently belongs to Mary Jeep because that's what was on
the license plate along with her picture. We are glad to see these
people, from all over who come here to see our beautiful vehicles. After
all the cars are the stars. Also a really neat rig was a 1995 Chevy S
10, which was purple, pulling a purple trailer with a 1997 purple
Kawasaki motorcycle in it. This neat rig belongs to Sean Weaver from
Orlando.
We want to say hi to a special friend, Hi Fred, we hope you made it back
to Michigan ok. We are ok and waiting for your return.
Bert Brown got lucky tonight and took home the 50/50 which was $37.00.
One flag winner did not show up so the case of oil went to cruiser no.
483. Our Cruise-O-Matic will go to $150.00 next week. No takers tonight.
We also had 119 cruisers. We want to thank Old Town, our
sponsors and Allan and our good staff for giving us the opportunity to
show our cruisers.
See you all next week.
