"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

Number #198 of the Newsletter went on sale today.

It was 3:45 and Linda and I would set out to Saint Cloud in our '60 Ranchero for another night of friends and Old Cars. It wasn't long before we would turn on to US 192, Vine Street, from Michigan Avenue when the rain started, OK it was more like a monsoon, it was nearly impossible to see the car ahead of us. Once we cleared the overhead that is the Turnpike it didn't even look like any rain had even hit the ground. It was 4:15 when we backed into our favorite parking spot. There were 2 bank cars in the parking area for the DJ rig but it was still a little early. Linda and I would head over to hang out under the canopy at the Sonic and see who would show up. Bob would back his SSR into his favorite spot. "Mustang Mike" Would situate the DJ rig in it's spot, the car that was directly in it's way had just pulled out. Ron would arrive in his '61 Caddy and take his usual place. "Cousin John" would back in his '72 deVille next to it. Nick called to ask if the Cruise would go on tonight and to mention that it was raining at his house and to let him know if the event was to go on. There were many similar calls from other Cruisers. Bob N, who had a heart attack on Sunday and surgery on Monday would call, he said he was headed out in his daily driver after all Ron A set this precedence. Dick & Jackie would bring out their '65 Mustang 2+2, see Mary it is back. Dennis & Francine, regular spectators, would set their chairs up across from the DJ rig. Emma would make it out after work. "Bo" would arrive in his '64 Corvair convertible. Renee would stop out for a visit. Doc would bring out the Mach1. Greg, the "Poinciana Kid" would be out in his Camaro. James would arrive in his daily driver at the same time Steve & Carol would park their '67 Camaro SS/RS. Al would be the last one to arrive in his Model A just before Mike called the Cruise-In a "Rainout" at 6:30.
