"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

 

We arrived just after 4:00, in our 61 Corvair. Ray, in his '32 Ford followed us into the parking lot. It has been a while since we have seen him at the Sonic, Welcome back! There was one car parked in the DJ rig area that caused "Mustang Mike" to set up a little differently but it worked out OK. John was next in his '57 Chevy, he took the shady spot by the big tree. J would take a spot next to him for is '67 Firebird.  Bob B would back his SSR into his favorite spot. Ron A would situate his  '61 Caddy just where he likes it. Paul & Jean along with Bill K were down near the shade tree. Nicky "Bop" had his 32 Ford next to "Cousin John's" Caddy. Steve, Charlie & Marie would park their '77 deVille on one side of us and Ed & Sarah along with Judy would park the "Short Box" pickup on the other side. Dick & Jackie were out in their 2+2 Mustang. Quintino who came out with "Mom", Lisa that is allowed his dad Brian to bring out the Chevelle. Our regular spectators were out with us, Coy, Dennis & Francine, Pat & Alan, John the "outboard guy" and Bill the "Photographer". Dave & Bailey stopped by for a while in their Pony Drive car. They will be goin' North for a few months. Nick & Fran arrived in their '32 Ford. Bob was in his '68 SS396 Chevelle, Jeff was even in his '59 Edsel. Dave would bring out his '63 Avanti, he said "Big Jim" said it was too hot! Ray & Bonnie would be out in their '56 Lincoln. Laura KI4ZJX would make her way out of the "Green Swamp" with her Firebird, T Rod, KT4ROD would be with her. Kristen, KJ4BST brought out the daily driver, Kevin, KM4FSU would back his daily driver into a spot under the Sonic canopy and drop the tailgate as his "Sofa". Old Town's  '57 Chevy was Cruised on out tonight by Allan, CJ and Cordell joined him just a little later. Dave, Esther, Nikki and Mesha brought out the '83 Mercury. Rich would park "Bananas" across from John & Ray. Graham, G4HFG, from Oldham England joined us over the radio. John, KG4BFJ would stop out for a visit.  Bert & "Ernie" would be out in the Comet. "Scary Larry" in his daily driver, Mike & Linda in their Chevelle. Steve & Carol would bring out the '55 Chevy. The Model A contingency included Ron H in his '30 Tudor Al in his '30 Tudor and Tom & Diane in their '30 Pickup.

John B was out in his '66 'Vette, he and Mark R that was in his '62 Impala were reminiscing trips along the "Mother Road", Route 66. Even "Cousin Vinney" and Tim were spotted in the crowd. "Bo" was in his Corvair and Bob N was in the trailer, he came straight from work and left the "Humpback" Ford at home tonight. Larry brought out his '47 Chevy, Barbara and the Grandkids were about. Did you know she has put up with Larry for 43 years as of the 3rd of July? Roy had his '64 Galaxie 500 out, Don R was in his '68 Fastback Mustang. Doc and Suzanne were in the "Tater Truck", Hank was in his Baja Bug. Even the George's made a surprise visit tonight in the Chevy powered Olds Cutlass, "Little" George has been in training as "Loser #3", Tony, "Loser #2", his mentor had the Corvette out, I even talked with Marlene, we don't see her often.

Well, I think I got everyone, sorry if I missed you. Other than the day being the hottest of the year, so far, it sure was nice to be Cruising again in Saint Cloud. Al Wendling had the winning ticket for the $104 50/50, he shared $10 each with the Cruise and this newsletter, Thank You.

The "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $250 next week, Keith Sierzega wasn't present during the drawing, AWWWW.

Brian Rader, Cruiser #729 took home "Cruiser of the Week" with the '66 Chevelle.

Yes, George did make it out in his "heirloom" '61 Falcon in time for the drawings.
