Is on sale this week.
The temperatures were going to dip to the 30's
tonight, we figured that we would not have a very big showing but Linda
& I headed for Old Town just after 3:30 in the latest Cruiser, we said
good-bye to the Corvair on Monday and Hello to a
1967 Dodge Dart 270. This was the
first time out for us in this car. We almost got passed Allan, Gary and
Scotty unrecognized but only for a second when we arrived at 3:40.
Gary's
HHR was parked in it's usual spot.
Bill & Doris
had
their
'79 T-Bird
second spot from the stage.
Dave, arrived in his daily driver
right from his day job.
Chris stopped by to say hello in
'72 Formula 400, family commitments have
kept him busy and he had to head off. We headed up to Flippers early as we waited for more cars
to arrive. Danielle took great car of us on Jane's day off. We met Tina
& Jack in Flippers and invited them to join in with Tina’s '05 Mustang
that is dressed with lights and graphics and don't have Friday night
off. Wolfman & Sue had their
Wolf Wagon parked next to the
T-Bird when we got back from dinner. James would have his
'67 Firebird next to our car. "Mustang Mike"
would have his
'64 Greenbrier next to him. Bob in
his
'68 SS396 Chevelle would be across
from us.
"Red Racer" Ted,
KE4TTE would bring his
Nismo Nissan and park North of the
stage as would
Buddy & Donna '07 Corvette,
Tony & Donna in their '65 Mustang and Doug & Trish in their '68
Bronco. Pep & Nancy would have their
'91 Mustang Convertible
out tonight.
Nilda came out in the '96 Ford Taurus, Pablo stayed home to play on the
computer, Nilda said she had fun anyway.
Lynn brought out her
'49 Ford Pickup. Jim & Deb with
a '69 Firebird joined in with us as did
Don with his '63 Chrysler Newport. Laura, NO4OO, in her '98
Firebird would arrive just about
dark,
Butch with his '84 LTD followed her in to "Trophy Row".
Tom & Bunny were out in their daily driver from Summerfield.
Doug would bring out his'78 El Camino.
The "Blue Suede Review", were setting up on stage, Mike Singer, KJGNI,
would make it to the controls of the "Blue Room". Allan was at the
secondary mixer.
“Blown to be Wild” Mark was in town with Susan, Brittany and Jessica,
from Parrish, stopped by for a while with Nick & Francine who were in their daily
driver.
Ed, WB8BHL and his son Christian along with Kevin, KM4FSU came out. Our
other regular spectators were in place, Jasmine & Glenda and Jim &
Lori and lots of other familiar faces that I have to learn the names of.
Graham, W4HFG, Carole & Edith
bought coats so that they could enjoy their last night of vacation at
Old Town. Another English family that we met at the Flea-Market on
Sunday came out to Old Town to get another “Dose of Dwight” before going
home to Gloucester on Friday.
"Mustang Mike"
and I would take the stage during the first break, Jasmine helped pick the 50/50 tickets, Cruiser #44 Nancy
Nichols won the $59, Emma stayed home tonight so she didn’t get to
collect the $30 Cruise-A-Matic. Next week it rolls over to $40.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Linda & Steve
Butler, Cruiser #16 in her "new" '67 Dodge Dart.
With 22 cars in attendance and Hundred's of Dwight
fans, it was a great night with our friends in our "Home Town". We would
stay for all three sets tonight even though it was the coldest night of
the year so far. Edith was still “bopping” as she was being led to the
car during Dwight’s last song, clutching her scarf and autographed
photograph of
Dwight. Aunt Vi, the
matriarch of the other English family, was wheeled out waving her
autographed inflatable guitar.
Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week,
to the Old Town Merchants association for sponsoring "A Tribute to the King",
to
Tracy Old Town's events director
that brought us the "Rock at the Clock" event and to
Gary &
Dave our own
TCB guys for giving us
the time that they do and to all of the Cruisers that are starting to
come out on a Wednesday Nite. Come on out, "Rain or Shine!" Cruisers, if
you don't want to bring out the car because of the weather come on out
anyway, lets build the audience on our own. Remember good entertainment
and good friends makes a great evening in our "Home Town".
