Images of "Fay".
The one that won't go away! The Question is, Will
there be a Cruise-In tonight? I am thinking that if the winds have died
down from topical storm Fay below the 30 to 40MPH range by Cruise-In
time, I would think so.
Not too many weather conditions have stopped
anything at our "Home Town". It looks like she took on more power at
4:30 in the afternoon going over Lake Okeechobee, she is stronger than
when she hit land this morning. We are hanging in there inside our
little old mobile home that has been in it's spot since 1959.
Now they think she could do an Ophelia like back
in '05. Go out to sea and grow into a Hurricane and come back to
Florida.
Here it is more that 24 hours after I started this
thread and she is like the Visitor that just won't go away!

Is on sale this week.
After a few days of "Storm Watching" on TV and the
internet sites with live radar and even though our trusty
Ranchero,
Elvira, wouldn't start because of all of the wind and rain she
swallowed, Linda & I decided it was time to go to Old Town to the
Cruise-In, it is now a rain or shine event, we will just see about
that. We arrived incognito, OK so it was our daily beater that we were
driving, Gary had the cones set for the Cruisers, the streets were wet
and it was raining.
Gary's
HHR was parked in his favorite
spot, we would park our Nissan outside of the conned area.
Allan
even zoomed by us and didn't know we were out yet.
Bill & Doris would park their
S-10 in the second spot to the south of the stage. Laura, NO4OO would
have to turn back after she was almost at Old Town but she would make it
back in her Firebird in time to join us for dinner at the
"Tropical
Breeze".
Graham,
G4HFG and Colin, 2E0RIG, from Oldham, England would check in over the radio as would
Tony,
K4AVD from Wisconsin.
Dave,
Esther &
Mesha were out in their
'83 Grand Marquis
next to Bill & Doris' S-10. "Mustang Mike"
would make it out to run the controls of the "Blue Room",
Kristen, KJ4BST would bring out the Mini,
Bert
& "Ernie" would have their "Elvis Tribute" PT Cruiser out, with more
graphics than before. Emma would arrive a little later.
The "Blue Suede Review" was almost set up when Dwight
arrived,
Tracy immediately escorted him off
to the "Old Town Photo Gallery" so that Derrick could take some new
publicity photos. I talked with a few visitors from New Foundland,
England, Upstate New York. It was raining a bit when Dwight went to
change out of the jumpsuit into the "Early Elvis" attire, then some
sunlight peaked through the clouds, Paul, Jimi, Shawn and Peter played a
bit of "Here comes the Sun". Then Dwight took stage and started the
first set. The spectator crowd grew larger, the rain that started up
didn't seem to bother them at all. At the end of the first set Bill &
Karen would staff the table for the Dwight/Elvis memorabilia. Dwight
would graciously talk with all that came up to see him and pose for
pictures with anyone that wanted them.
Unfortunately there weren't enough cars to advance
the Cruise-A-Matic or play the 50/50 Game and there wasn't a new Cruiser
of the week chosen. I want to thank all of the Cruisers listed above for
coming out tonight despite the weather.
Last Wednesday's "Cruiser of the Week" went to Cruiser #83,
Dave, Esther & Mesha Skord with their '83 Mercury Grand Marquis.
Thank You to Old Town for inviting us out every week,
to Budweiser the King of Beers for sponsoring "A Tribute to the King", to
Gary &
Dave our own TCB guys for giving us the time that they do and
to all of the Cruisers that are starting to come out on a Wednesday Nite.
Come on out, "Rain or Shine!" Cruisers, if you don't want to bring out
the car because of the weather come on out anyway, lets build the
audience on our own. Remember good entertainment and good friends always
ends up being a good time.
The "Cruise-A-Matic
remains at
$60 for next week.
