Newsletter #202 Is on sale this week.

Linda and I would back our '60 Ranchero into a spot next to Gary's HHR by the stairs at the top of Block 1 at 3:30, the cones were set for our Cruisers to make their way in. "Big" John and "Scary, Scared Larry" arrived in John's '08 Vette, his latest Toy. Once the competition mode was found, Roger had to hold on.  Bill & Doris would situate their T-Bird in the second spot to the South of the stage, just where they like it. Tony & Donna brought out their '65 Mustang. At 4:30 Linda and would go over to the "Tropical Breeze" for dinner. While we were there, Nick and Fran would arrive in his '32 Ford, Bob would park his '68 SS396 Chevelle next to him. Gary & Wanda would park their '55 Chevy next to the stage. Bob N would park his '36 Ford on the other side of the stage. Dave, Esther & Mesha were out in their '83 Grand Marquis next to Bill & Doris' T-Bird. Tony & Marianne would have their '72 Monte Carlo in the line up. "Mustang Mike" and Emma would be out in the daily driver as would James, Ken & Wanda and Kristen, KJ4BST. Bert & "Ernie" would have their "Elvis Tribute" PT Cruiser out, with more graphics than before. "Lucky Louie" would have his '52 Ford parked by Tony's Mustang. Buzz the "Wolfman" and Sue, "Mrs. Wolfman", had their '03 F-150 setup just down from our car. Laura, NO4OO had her Firebird at the end of the line, she had to check into a ARES net on the radio at 7:30. Charlie would take the last spot on the west side in his customized, '02 Mini Cooper S. "Red Racer" Ted, KE4TTE would park his "Red Racer" next to Laura's Firebird. Graham, G4HFG, from Oldham, England would check in over the radio as would Tony, K4AVD from Wisconsin. I spent a bit of time once again tonight chatting with Mike Singer up in the "Blue Room" he is excited about his consistent high scores on his practice tests to become an Amateur radio operator. This is something he has always wanted to do, the OTARC has been encouraging him.

Tonight would be the first night that we have had this Cruise-In at it's newest venue that our "Headliner" entertainment wasn't going to be in Town.  Dwight is in Memphis for the "Elvis week" and will be competing in the Ultimate Elvis Contest, we all wish him well. "The Blue Suede Review" took stage and Bill Langston, you know the Scarf guy for Dwight, and Nancy Tin with the Elvis Presley Continentals Fan Club had a line up of entertainers for us that included Steven Gilles, Steve Demetrius, Jim Jinelli, Patrick Sebastian, Barry Porter, Jeremy Ewbank and Crystalyn Ewbank. These performers would each do 3 numbers.  "The Blue Suede Review", that consisted of Mark, Jimi and Paul tonight would provide them with the musical backup. They would also give us a variety of songs from Orbison to the Beatles and a Monkee's or two. Tracy was out and would have some Games for all in attendance between the 2nd and 3rd set. We did have a little rain, Wolfman said it wouldn't be right with out this free rinse. It didn't last long and we all moved back to the streets for the entertainment.

After the first set "Mustang Mike" and I took the stage for the drawings and awards. Bob and Emma, had been selling the 50/50 tickets and we had lots of good prizes including a few from the Merchants of Old Town along with an Autographed CD from Dwight Icenhower that we purchased last week. Bill donated an "Elvis" lighter and pocket knife set to be given away. Tonight's "Cruiser of the Week" went to Cruiser #83, Dave, Esther & Mesha Skord with their '83 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Crystalyn would assist us on stage with the drawings and a fine job she did.

The $72 50/50 went home with a spectator, Melanie Alft. Bobby G., Cruiser #81, was chosen in the "Cruise-A-Matic: but he was not present tonight, so next week we have $60 in the offering.

Thank you Old Town for bringing our Cruise-In to the streets of our adopted "Home Town".
