June 4th
Graham, G4HFG,
from Oldham, England came in over the radio to join us at the event
while we were still in route, then when Linda & I arrived at the "Square", just about 4:10 in
our
'Elvira, or '60 Ranchero James in his
'67 Firebird convertible "Scary Larry",
Roger,
in his '86 Mustang were parked on the East side of the patio. Jack
in his
'29 Model A, "Old Yeller",
had been setting outside for a while, he
thought he would come a little early and get something to eat, "Bites"
was closed until 4:00 but when Jack left at 10 minutes to 5 they still
hadn't opened yet.
"Mustang Mike"
situated the DJ rig into it's spot about
the same time. Paul had backed his "Toy Truck" into his favorite spot a
little earlier and Bill K pulled in next to him just about 5:30. Roger
and I had been talking about Ron A, wondering if he had made it home
from the hospital after having a heart attack last Friday night, when he
arrived in the passenger seat of Roy's '64 Galaxie 500. From the ICU on
Monday to his first Cruise-In in 2 days flat! Now that is a "Die Hard"
Cruiser. He can't drive yet for a few days but I bet he makes the Annual
on Saturday. So "Get Well" Ron! Steve Mc, K4SKM, would come out in his
daily driver, it was raining at his house. 6:00 The "Wookie" would bring
out his Mustang and Andy would be in his deVille, Steve & Charlie would
be a few minutes behind them in the
'77 deVille. "Lucky Louie" snuck
in between them in his daily driver. Al chugged into the "Square" in his
Model A and a few minutes later Jim would back his
'67 GTO in to a spot just just
after Mike "Called" the Cruise-In at 6:40 for lack of participation.
Reports of Rain to the East, North and South of us is more than likely
what was keeping Cruisers away.
The
Cruise-A-Matic" remains at $30 and no new "Cruiser of the Week" was
chosen.
Thank you to the Robertson Family for having us all out once again and
giving us a home for our event each and every week. Thank you to the
"Bites" staff, Brittany, Cody & Chris, for taking such good care
of all of us.
Hamlin Ave now goes through to Old Hickory
Tree Road, so the back way out takes you to a traffic light.
On to the Photos.
