March 19th, 2008
We headed out to the "Square" in our
'60 Ranchero just about 3:30 as usual.
Jack in
"Ol' Yeller" his '29 Model A Sports Coupe was coming towards us
as we arrived just before 4:00. Swanee's Pub was now open for business,
"Scary Larry" was next to arrive in his '86 Mustang. Paul took his
favorite spot next to the patio for his "Toy Truck". "Cousin John"
backed his '72 Caddy into the spot on the other side.
"Mustang Mike"
then placed the DJ rig into it's spot for the night. "Big John" brought
out his '69 GT350, Steve was with him. Don M brought out his '64 Corvair
convertible and parked it behind the DJ rig. Ron backed his '61 Caddy
into a spot next to it. Bill then arrived in his '81 Blazer followed in
by Dick in his '66 2+2 Mustang. It certainly was a beautiful night, the
last day of Winter and the temperature was over 80 degrees. The breeze
was even warm. Nick was next to arrive in his
'32 Ford Coupe. Bob wasn't far behind in his
'68 SS 396 Chevelle. Gary & Wanda
then arrived in their '55 Chevy, "Remember When" it was good seeing them
out, Gary is still recuperating from the new hardware that he had
installed. Andy wheeled his '79 deVille into a spot next to Dick.
Roy got the last spot behind the DJ rig for his '64 Galaxie 500XL.
Steve
& Charlie arrived in the
'77 deVille. Jim R brought out his GTO and parked it in the West
end of the lot. Bert & "Ernie" made it out in their '66 Comet Station
Wagon. Laura, KI4ZJX, came up all the way from the "Green
Swamp" down by Lakeland in her
Firebird. Kevin, KM4FSU, came out
to join in with us. Larry & Karen came out in
"ITZA 40", for the last
Wednesday of this season, back to Canada on Monday. Karen even joined in
at the table with Emma, Linda, Laura and the rest of us. Yes, George
did make it to the Cruise-In, after 7:00 in his
'61 Heirloom Falcon but with it being light out it
seemed like he was early.
Graham, G4HFG, from Oldham, England did check
in over the radio and spent most of the evening with us, right now there
is only a 4 hour time differential until they go on DST next weekend.
Chris made us welcome on behalf of the Robertson Family,
Brittany and Cody took good care of our dinning needs from "Bites".
"Cousin John" had the winning ticket for the $37 50/50.
The $60 "Cruise-A-Matic" was taken home by Gary & Wanda
Thompson, Cruiser #166.
Cruiser #142, "Scary Larry" AKA Roger Knight went home as
"Cruiser of the Week", in his '86 Mustang.
On to the Photos.
