Light's and Beyond had their first "Glow Show" at Old Town on Sunday. "Red Racer" Ted, KE4TTE sends us this report. Laura, KI4ZJX took a few photos. I will have a few photos and video clips posted as well.

Going to Old Town on Sunday, with my Friday Night Cruiser was a first for me, and it was the "Glow Show" at Old Town this weekend. I had arrived about 3:00PM and found I was first on line to get into the show. The weather was great, mid 80's, low humidity, and partly cloudy sky's, so I took advantage of the spring afternoon to have lunch at Flippers at the outside tables, I met with Jane, and put in my order. While waiting for my food, I checked in with the Ham Radio Cruisers, Steve K4SLB, and Graham G4HFG from the UK, plus Laura KI4ZJX stopped by later and took some digital photos of the show. As usual my lunch was great at Flippers, and I strolled back to the car about 4:30, and met Bert & Laverne behind me in line, with his Mercury Comet Station Wagon. The gate opened at 5:00 PM, and we rolled down the bricks to a good crowd of spectators enjoying the sunny weather. Gary was there on the bricks to greet us and guide us to get checked in & parked. Wolfman & Sue were already in their spot, by the stage, with his Ford F150, Bert and me parked next to them. Nikki was parking the cars in their spots with her cheerful smile.

Before long Bill & Doris showed up, they were doing well, they brought their chairs to enjoy the afternoon. Steve & Linda came shortly after, Steve checking up on me and taking some video's as well as photos. I saw Eddie Flames with his Ford Mustang Convertible, he was doing well and enjoying the show. Finally the sun started to set about 7:30 and slowly the lites on the cars & motorcycles started to get turned on. Aaron the show sponsor stopped by and was making sure everybody was getting settled in. Some cars came without lites, so in the Old Town spirit, Aaron made a new class for cars without lites, so everyone that showed up could participate in the show. Since this was the first show like this at Old Town, no one was turned away. By 8:00 all the lites were on, and the flashing, pulsating, strobing, blinking began. There were about 30-35 vehicles & motorcycles total. The spectators were streaming through steadily making it a good crowd that was enjoying the show. The judging started about 9:00, and the Cruisers were all enjoying each other cars and company this evening.

Nikki did a great job on the stage at 10:00, giving away the door prizes, raffle baskets. & 50/50. Aaron & Joe of Lights and Beyond started giving out the trophies at 10:30. The first class given out was the 4 door imports, and I was surprised to find out I had won a 1st Place, my very first trophy win ever, with my Friday Night Cruiser. Wolfman won 1st Place in the truck class, and Bert & "Ernie" took 1st in Classic car category, the crowd was good, even though the temperature got a little cool as the evening came to a close. Thanks to all the Old Town Merchants for donating the door prizes for the show, and the staff did a great job of making sure everyone was safe as well as enjoyed the evening, which is typical of any event at Old Town. Thanks to Aaron of Lights and Beyond for sponsoring the show and giving the Cruisers an event which I'm sure will held regularly at Old Town. Next show would be scheduled for September to allow for the sun to go down earlier and give more time for the lite show. This was a truly enjoyable evening show, and the lites were spectacular in the varied way they were used on the vehicles, and I'm sure ideas were past around among cruisers. Thanks to all the Cruisers that came out, which were a mix of Friday & Saturday Night, and Ham Radio Cruisers, it was great to have all types of cruisers in one show. A good time was enjoyed by all, and the weather was great for the show. I will be looking forward to the next show, and hope you will too.

Hope to see you next Friday..

Red Racer Ted, KE4TTE ;-)
